It’s times like this you wonder how the Suns giving up the rights to Gold Coast born-and-bred Dayne Zorko for a dropped pie would play in a similar situation involving say, Port and the Crows, or West Coast and Freo.

So usually we seem to get the Suns not too late in the year recently, before the arse falls out of all their youngsters tiring. Of course this year when they are decimated by injuries we're getting them so late they'll probably be at full strength (such as it is).

That aside, the Suns got within two goals of Carlton last week. Looking at how poor (despite injuries) the Suns are, if we aren't winning tonight by at least 10 goals, then sure enjoy the wins this season, but we aren't doing anything when it counts.

What the **** is going on with Sexton. He was almost AA two years ago. Missed a bunch of footy last year and now is just complete poo.

Merge saints and bulldogs. Merge GC and North and off to Tassie.

Can't believe every season there's people that think this "club" might have turned the corner.

They just have no identity or history to fall back on. Players play there and what is it for? What came before them? What's the intangible soul that makes you run out onto the field and feel obliged that effort is non-negotiable?

Trumpet man. That's what.

Yeah merge dogs and saints and create a Frankenstein team that would dominate the league for a decade.

This is why the Kangaroos should have been moved there. At least they'd have some form of history to draw from.

North to merge with GC and become Gold Coast Kangaroos. Melbourne can go to Tassie, Tasmanian Demons. 17 teams, so a team having a bye each week. It's 8 teams in Victoria vs 9 outside it, makes it a very big win though, even if it would take 5 - 10 years of being on the wrong side of all the #vflforever shit that is detrimental to everyone outside it, before the GC Kangaroos and Tassie Demons stop thinking of themselves as Victorians still.

They had baby Dayne Zorko and gave him to their rivals for a pregnant hamster and a scratchie.

They also gave away pick #2 to get Lachie Weller ‘home’ (became something of a naturalised Queenslander when he moved up there with the whole family when older brother Maverick was taken by them).

Other than that, it’s a widespread ‘oof’.

Is it the talent they draft or is it the development blackhole that is the GC? Hard to say. I think it's just the combination of everything.

They are going to be staring at an exodus real soon. Some good talent has given them plenty of time to come good. They might shuffle off now it looks like there is just more pain coming, even for less money.

Rankine and Luko odds on to leave if it continues. Both may go to the Crows if they get some good draft capital. If I was the Crows I'd be preparing for that.

Preventing North from merging with Fitzroy is arguably the #1 strategic error the league made in the AFL era.

You instantly create a medium-sized club with 40000-45000 members, leaving Brisbane to always be Brisbane with the entire Queensland catchment to nurture until the Suns come along, give or take 5,000 members.
