I didn't say I'd swap positions. I said they'd be happy with where they're at. From being the worst team since Fitzroy to being competitive in 1 season is quite good, yet they're still low enough to bank another pick.

Nicks has got them playing (at times) fast aggressive footy.

Ken has got us playing the same old stodgy sh*t that we've played the last 6 years.

Sometimes a club needs change and we need to sack that coke Zero drinking Muppet.
That fast aggressive footy is to make up for deficits everywhere else.
It wins them a quarter or two and then they desperately try to hold on.
Actually that sounds very familiar.

Improve from 1st on the ladder to ?
They were dead set last, of course they’d improve, the only improvement we could have would be win the flag. Not come 15th 😂

Not just about placing on the ladder, but also about the evolution of how we're playing. From where we were last season and the players we have we should be premiership favourites but instead we are really sitting in that second rung right now.

And they weren't just last, they were an utter embarrassment. As an example Norf in 2021 is a million times better in every way that the Cows in 2020. For them to be the 15th best team in the AFL and have no further off-field disgraces this season so far is a huge step up.

Who cares?

Its a false dawn based on old players having one last hurrah.

Their rise this years hurts them more than it helps.

They will win the spoon next year or the one after with Tex gone and Sloane, Seedsman, Talia, Smith, Lynch, Brown, Crouch etc. either gone or going downhill.

P.s. how funny is it looking up the Crows squad on the AFL app and seeing Gibbs and Stengle.

Well I hope so.

Adelaide has gotten to the point though where they are focused on "Days without being a national embarrassment" as their most relevant KPI and for the first time since 2018 they've probably got that number over 100. I'll let them celebrate small wins.

You wouldn't, but you would take their improvement from 2020 to 2021 over ours in a heartbeat so it depends what you are considering.

What the cows did in the 2018-2020 seasons is probably the most embarrassingly disgraceful period of any club I've seen in my lifetime: from the power stances, to the camp, to the hilarious grand final, to the walk outs and toxic culture, to the spoon. They've gone from that to being a poor/mediocre side in 2020 that's actually retaining players and looks like a group that wants to play together and work hard.

Exactly. When you're that bad, the only way is up.

I'm not seeing the Crows 20/21 improvement any differently from our 11/12 seasons.

Look at the games we lost in 2012 by 4-5 goal margins. The only difference is, we weren't called brave, we were told we were in the u-bend waiting to be flushed.

The profile of their list means they won't be having a Port 2013 type year next year.

This sexy, aggressive game style that sobrave is praising is just taking the game on because expectations are low and there's really no repercussions for losing. Unless its a Showdown where they just park the bus to mitigate damage.

I don’t see it as a crows improvement to me it’s more like a drop off from the other teams.
It’s a bit like the middle class Society has depleted so now your either well off or poor.
Lot of very poor football teams going around and there numbers are growing each year.

The croms would be pretty happy. 15th is still a nice high draft pick, yet they've become much more competitive in one season, despite still having a load of spuds in their best 22. They also have been playing a much more exciting brand of footy than us.

Funny what having a new coach can do?
I don't think this is true at all. I thought the majority of our match against Freo was pretty exciting to watch, particularly the first quarter.

We've reached the halfway mark 8 and 3, despite a number of injuries, if we back that up that is a 16 and 6 season. It's not all doom and gloom.

I doubt the crows will be happy with 15th too, yeah it's an improvement but they are still pretty bad. admittedly, they've played 2 really good/exciting games out of 11, the rest has been meh.

So can croms hate. Don't wanna go all PAFC66 on youse but I wouldn't be surprised if they've gone past us by 2023, especially if we still have the dud in the coaches box.

Past us by 2023? What in the actual **** are you smoking man?

Their dead cat bounce is off the back of a Walker masterclass in the first 4 rounds and being propped up by solid performances of Sloane, Smith, Seedsman, Crouch and Keays. Their youth is a variable who's who of dud draft picks in Jones, McHenry and Fogarty topped up with SANFL types in Frampton, Rowe, McAdam etc. We could be coached by a Frankenstein of the worst parts of Choco, Primus and Hinkley and still be ahead of them in two years time based off of talent alone.

Plus remove the extreme umpire influence from round 1 and the last couple of dud calls from the game against Melbourne and they sit 2 and 9.

A mass player exodus from at least three Victorian clubs is a live possibility if the AFL is forced to implement long-term hubs again in 2021.

The league has told clubs it will exhaust every possible option before considering long-term hubs for a second consecutive season - welcome news to some players at Essendon, Carlton and Richmond, who would seriously consider leaving their teams and returning to Victoria if their trips were extended beyond two or three weeks.

The issue is in sharp focus at these three clubs because they have a bye in Round 13 and would prefer to return home to spend time with family next week, even if Melbourne is in a lockdown.

Well that wouldnt be much of a surrpise really looking at it realistically. Neither Port nor Adelaide have finished ahead of the other for more than 4 consecutive years. This will be 4 in a row for Port this year.

So unless they've completely ****ed their rebuild like a Melbourne or a Freo then they probably should be finishing ahead of us by/after 2023.

they better not get paid if they do leave!

This BS again.

Lol, make a Crows 2023 team based on their current list. It is comical. They aren't going to make up for that with 1st and 2nd year draftees.

2023 Forward line:
Riley Thilthorpe Pick 7 James Rowe
Tex Walker Darcy Flogarty Pick 12

Has elite written all over it.

Yea 110% their “Renaissance” this season is on the back of their established prime movers not the kids to stay where they are right now the remainder has to improve enough to cover what Tex, Laird, Seed etc currently provide

That’s just to stay still things will get worse for them before they contend
