One of the team leaders at my work is a Collingwood supporter, and he's very painful about it

I meant in number rather than demeanour. That being said the Collingwood supporters I know are better than many of the crows ones

On the back of reading that PAFC Board Member Gav Wang had been promoting the Dreamtime in Perth game, I had a dream last night that he kicked the winning goal for Essendon. I was annoyed on multiple fronts. The mind is quite amazing really.

I disagree. Collingwood definitely have a reasonable following here and Melbourne are neutral enough that people would get behind them as an anti-Collingwood / anti-Eddie sentiment. Add in the charity angle and the fact that there generally isn't much going on during the Queen's Birthday holiday and I reckon if the weather was reasonable it would draw a fair crowd.

Who's seriously paying $40 or $50 to go to this game outside SA based Collingwood or Melbourne supporters? Seriously? Why would you? I don't get it. I find it weird. It is a game that holds zero interest.

They couldn't even support a NEAFL team. Darwin has a population just over 100k, Alice 25k with a fair proportion of people living there being rugby supporters. Massively transient population that would already have their favourite team and even if they became fans they move away after 3 years. Not to mention that a fair proportion of that population wouldn't have the money for memberships.
When I lived there most people went out of town most weekends during the dry season so won't be around to go to the game
It's the greatest place to live in the world but could in no way could they support an AFL team.

Yeah Collingwood have a sizeable following. I think back to that game in 2011 in the rain at AAMI and there might have been nearly as many of them as there was of us.

More.

I support the concept of an NT team but don’t see how it would work. For large parts of the season Darwin is too humid and Alice Springs too hot.

Force a Vic club into making a long term commitment to play 4 games per year in the top end.

tasmania on the other hand no one goes anywhere ever, they all love footy and watch shit tier local games and would fill the (admittedly small) stadium every week

the one in launceston even looks half decent. hobart could use a new stadium.

Neale Daniher.

Look a little wider than the football.
