Do you know what's funny about the 'contact'?

Walsh did an interview with the Crows believing it was for senior coach. Turns out it was only for senior assistant. He turned it down.

I'm pretty sure they've had two cracks at him in the past month, neither of them for the senior coaching role, which Walsh isn't interested in anyway. They also tried to get him when he moved back here from his stint at West Coast.

Yep, when I want to progress my career, the first thing I do is leave a blue sky company that is on the verge of success and can inflate my brand enormously for a floundering former Fortune 500 company that is antiquated in its ways with an aging demographic so they can try to recreate their halcyon days.

Any coach leaving Port to go to Adelaide would be akin to leaving Apple to go to Nokia just before the iPhone was released.

The chequebook is out at west lakes and shares in Roo's business ventures are on the table!

How many of these do they have?

They can use all the cash they had saved up for Clarko.

Seriously, the way their supporters are always saying "we'll just throw more $$$$$ at him" you'd think they were a financial powerhouse like West Coast. They're not. They should be, but they're not.

Yes, our current Director of Coaching Alan Richardson is also contracted. Thank goodness AFL contracts mean something.

If Alan Richardson wanted to move to St Kilda for anything but the head coaching role we'd have held him to his contract.

I know we all reckon Camries followers personify the pissant mentality, but their WCE equivalent give them a run for their money. A caller tonight to 6PR reckons Bluey McKenna's sacking was A(V)FL revenge - they've never forgiven the Eagles for taking the premiership cup away from Victoria for the first time :drunk:

This is why the Eagles are hated so much by oppo fans who live in WA.We hear stuff like that daily from those flogs

Exactly.

There's a world of difference between an apex promotion and a sideways step.

Just to chime in... How did we get a contracted Shaun Hart to move "sideways" (I understand he's director of coaching and not a line coach now).

Gold Coast didn't have to release him, but they did.

"In the end, we agreed we wouldn't be allowing Shaun to develop as a person and a coach if we restricted him from accepting this role with significantly greater responsibilities.

"Also, with our structure and current personnel, it is also highly unlikely that we would be in a position to offer Shaun similar experience in the near future."

Probably had the AFL's ok because of the way we lost our senior assistant at the last minute, just on the Suns I don't think Gorringe will be the last raid we'll make on their gun talent over the next few years. Day's next when Ken 'demands key forwards' next year lol.

Based on their management's press conference today, they probably aren't sure what happened to Hart.
"We would, uh, like to acknowledge how good his contributions were. His contributions extraordinary."

"Where did Shaun Hart go?"

"Like I said, today is about Shaun Hart, we would like to give him respect."
