Must admit not paying much attention to West Coast this year other to say that they appear to be horrible.

But surely their ineptitude cant solely be blamed on their Covid issues? Surely that's finished now?
Are they really that bad? Are they tanking? Has Simpson lost them?
I reckon the extreme nature of covid protocols forcing 8-15 changes some weeks, has exposed and compounded how bad some prior year list management decisions have been.

No covid and they probably have a poor year, and win maybe 6-10 games range, and have 80-90%.

Now they will finish the year with 1 or 2 wins and 50% or less.

AFL PLAYERS' Association (AFLPA) president Patrick Dangerfield has reignited debate around a mid-season trade period, claiming it would "invigorate" the competition during down periods.

And despite misgivings from AFL football operations boss Brad Scott, the Geelong superstar believes the additional exchange window could be introduced within two years.

"I'd love to see, at some stage, mid-season trading come in," Dangerfield said on SEN.

Good analysis.

"No way would I ever do that (hit Cotchin high). It's not in the spirit of the game."

Buddy Franklin has told the Tribunal he has "no recollection of exactly where" he hit Trent Cotchin.

Great defence?

I wonder if it would just be straight player swaps, or involve upcoming/future draft picks too. Teams that are out of the finals race at that stage could go the full tank and load up on draft picks in that case.

It would have to involve picks of the chances of making a trade would be minimal.

More interesting than the bottom teams would be the top teams.

How much would a team chasing a flag give up mid-season to try and get it over the line?

I wasn't a fan of Klomp but wouldn't wish this on him.

Sorry to hear about his health struggles, but if he was legendary, what does that make Robbert Klomp? Maybe Kim heroically opted for the player retention fund when the VFL clubs came knocking.

touches wood I just realised that I'm pleasantly surprised that we've only had one club smashed by covid this season after expecting a rolling schmozzle. To the point that it's almost a forgotten issue, also turns out the club blaming covid is actually just as shit so I think in peoples minds those performances weren't really effected much at all. I would think most of us before the season began were expecting top ups to be used around the place frequently.

I love how that Gleeson clown always thinks he's prosecuting Ted Bundy or something. Calm down you plod it's just a couple of footy players
When you have practicing high profile Queens Counsel barristers (silks) representing both sides of the tribunal process (players and the AFL) we really shouldn't be surprised that adversarial OTT court language is the result.

I don't know what the solution to this is but it's plainly absurd and wanky.

My favourite the Crows board

"Whatever happens, just don’t select Turner at 4 and pass at 19"

Their own McEntee, but even worse because he's older and they are supposedly rebuilding. What's the point?
Surely Ramsden would of been the smarter move was hoping they would pick Turner lol.

Just saw this pic in an Adelaide Now article where #Malcom was saying, “There really has not been a lot of improvement in the Adelaide team” when asked on the Crows season to date. I wonder the pic was taken at a Crows function...
