Nah there has to be more behind the scenes. As i said in post above, the afl has obviously made guarantees to clarko.

Step 1: engage Clarkson to investigate a Tasmanian team and unofficially anoint him as coach in waiting for Tasmanian team. Check.
Step 2: get media talking heads to propose relocation of Norf to Tasmania while still maintaining their Melb presence. Check.
Step 3: encourage Norf to sack incumbent coach and embark on enticing Clarkson with cash/pick incentives provided. Check.
Step 4: relocate Norf to Tassie within 5 years while Clarkson is still coach.
Step 5: enjoy the accolades of having a Tasmanian presence while still keeping the Victorian block alive.

Essendon need the kind of stability and calmness that a coach like Ken could bring?
As it stands now it's unlikely Ken would get a senior role at another AFL club. With a new generation of coaches coming through. It might change if Port have a good 2023.

Charlie Curnow signes a 7 year deal with the blues.

Smallest club in the league, back to back wooden spoons, constant threat of relocation.

Yet still more attractive than super rich Essendon.

That place must be awful.
Was listening to someone on the radio the other day talking about Essendon.

Super rich supporters basically run the show and have a huge amount of influence.

Sounds like a horrendous place.

Meanwhile - we’ve got happy days Ken and the mediocre clappers on the board leading us to celebrate ‘we aren’t as bad as we could be’

And here come the priority picks…..
SURELY NOT!

Refusing to spend money for a few years and tank to spoons, then spunk it on a top coach is a TACTIC!

It shouldn't result in PP's.
