I went to Norwood Oval last Saturday for the Amateur league Grand Final, the playing surface was a disgrace and the toilets on the outer I wouldn't let my dog use them.

Totally agree. About 4 weeks ago I was there for an under 16’s game. There were bare patches and tuffs of grass all over. Handling the ball on the ground was a lottery. It needs a break of at least two years. Completely dug up, a new drainage system and new turf laid. For it to succeed it will need a two years break - the dead legs will let that happen!!

I came 3rd in the junior 440 yards 1959 Norwood High Schools Sports Day on the Norwood Oval.

Have always blamed the poor quality of the turf for my dismal failure
