I only use AFLM for comedy reasons.

When you use the #AFL hashtag in a twitter search you also get stuff about Gridiron and some American trade union, which is annoying and possibly the only reason I can think of to go with AFLM. I haven't tested #AFLM yet, but at this stage it would probably only bring up tweets from RWNJs and HLFs arguing the toss.

I'm waiting for someone to realise we went from a Queen to a King - Can a King only be a male? is that sexist and not equal? Is a King higher ranking than a Queen? what happens to a chess board?

Capturing the King is the goal but the Queen is the most powerful piece on the board.

Sorry for unleashing my inner Papa G here, but can we all stop making 'AFLM' a thing?

There's no such thing as AFLM. There's the AFL and the AFLW. Nobody has ever seen somebody use the acronym AFL and been confused about whether they're referring to the men's or the women's competition. If you started calling the NBA the 'MNBA' they'd have you committed.
There is such a thing as AFLM. Its the AFL Masters competitions.

The over 35s competition, played by both men and women.

Brisbane will go deeper next year if they get Dunkley and Gunston.

Deeper than a prelim? So you are basically saying they’ll make the GF?

I reckon they struggle next year. I think this hawthorn racism scandal is going to be a massive disruption for them.

I also feel like they missed their chances 2019-22, I see a natural regression occurring for them next year. Lower half of the 8 at best.

Complete dickhead.
Are clubs allowed to have behaviour clauses written in to a contract?

In my profession poor behaviour certainly would have seen me sacked, but like CD I'm not sure that can happen with what seems to be a standard contract. Was my first thought anyway.

It seems like a lot of the AFL industry gets away with behaviour that get us normal people fired.

Carey? Lyon?

i suppose De Goey’s questionable acts have been away from “work” but the AFLPA can’t have it each way. It’s a professional sport with consequences, not a bush league footy competition. Collingwood’s problem was being to vague, but I feel the clause is completely justified. Just look at all the regulations a member of our defence force live under and what gets them fired…. I believe its called prejudicial conduct.

It will be interesting to see what happens next.

Probably, but not like what DeGoey was apparently facing.

“we can stand you down and terminate the contract whenever we think necessary”
Saying they can end the contract whenever they want, for any reason they want. And with Collingwood's recent history of dealing with back-ended contracts? I don't blame DeGoey for not wanting to sign that.

I went to Norwood Oval last Saturday for the Amateur league Grand Final, the playing surface was a disgrace and the toilets on the outer I wouldn't let my dog use them.

I went to a Bite/Giants game in 2014 and the toilets were falling apart then. Good to see things have changed.

I've grown increasingly annoyed that Robbie Gray never played in a flag since the GF.

Most of the Geelong Dad's Army brigade are not fit to tie his boots & they'll be jizzed over for eternity.

Difference in culture.

Geelong play their arse off to get one more for their retiring champions

Port does the opposite, we miss the finals and feel bad for ourselves. Then to make ourselves feel better, we give 110% effort against a lowly Crows side.

There is probably a paragraph underneath that line that has been conveniently let out by the AFLPA media machine

Selwood retiring.... cant stand him
Good riddance.

Only James Hird rivals him as a person who has done so much damage to the game over the past 15 years. Great player, great captain, probably a nice bloke off the field, but on the field he was the biggest cheat the game has ever seen, and he's inspired a new generation of Weightmans and Ginnivans who grew up watching him to follow in his footsteps.

Clarko making a late surge for the title.
