Brad Scott bombers new coach

He may as well merge them with North and keep coaching, neatly solving several thorny problems at once. 1921 called, they wanted their merger back ;)

From the position they were in its actually a decent appointment. Theyve avoided Hird, avoided ex Hawks, avoided Hinkley, and managed to follow through on their promise to get experience. It seems underwhelming but it could have been worse.

The best thing is if the Cats are out of the running but the Bombers are still in with a chance they can just do a twin swap like Lindsey Lohan in The Parent Trap.

Yea it's actually a decent appointment for the predicament Essendon are in the test will come for Brad when he gets them competitive again and whether he still has Hinkley-esque issues in finals.

He’s well connected, well respected, he’s tapped in (throughout) the past two years to all the footy clubs, and while he was doing that for the role he had as head of football at the AFL, clearly he was able to get the spin-off bonus of that and being able to access a lot of club’s systems and intel.

“I would argue he’s gained from being outside the coaching system and the role that he’s had.

“Even just the administrative role that the head of football is at the AFL would also – I imagine – smooth out some other issues as well.”

Meanwhile, former Carlton list manager Stephen Silvagni shared a similar sentiment.

“I just think the IP (intellectual property) that he’s going to bring to the Bombers, he oversees the footy department and he oversees other clubs, so he’s got access to a range of things that no other coach in the competition would have access to,” he added.

Scott didn't have 'Hinkley-esque' issues in finals, his issue was that he was coaching Norf and their list was never anything close to good enough.

Just the same as what Geelong has been doing.
