Oh wow.

The 'not a key defender not a flanker' got delisted after inexplicably getting to Saint Kilda after showing that he's that typical 'why isn't he getting more afl games' type of footballer the true football nuffs gush over.

He is the type of player that's the worst kind of list clogger, the ones that are never going to be more than 'meh' and they're getting AFL games because they're just good enough get games and stunt the development and growth of younger more deserving prospects.

You pick fringe players to find out if they sink or swim, liernert unfortunately fits into the player that kinda just floats there.

Just another 'he's too good for the sanfl' types on his way back to the sanfl.. magarey potential.
The term 'too good for sanfl' is also very flawed.

It gives an impression that they have the potential to be good enough for AFL when they're actually not.

It should be 'not good enough for afl' or affixed to it like:

'too good for sanfl, but not good enough for afl'

The mature age 'too good for sanfl' types generally should be avoided. There's the occasional exception I guess usually only in a well functioning outfit.

When Skinner was stuffing it up against the Hawks earlier this year, I said to myself "why did we ever get rid of Jarrod”? Skinner was like "Keystone Cops" quality. He was terrible. Jarrod knew the team rules and played accordingly.

motion is expected to be put forward at tonight’s council meeting, calling for a supplemented consultation process and to hold off on making any decision on the precinct until the new council is in session.

West Torrens CEO Terry Buss.

West Torrens CEO Terry Buss.
Mr Boylan told The Advertiser the motion will address the Your Say survey and community consultation regarding previous projects of a significantly-lesser size.

“The current consultation is disproportionate to the magnitude and impact that the proposal will have on the community,” he said.

“We don’t understand why this is being rushed, previous projects had double the consultation period.”

Residents will also be seeking clarification on public access, tree preservation, traffic management and governance arrangements to protect the current and future needs of the community.
“As residents we are entitled to see a proper concept plan, and details about access provisions for the community, proposed landscaping (in particular Kings Reserve), a cost-benefit analysis, and draft terms related to governance including protections for the current and future needs of the community,” Mr Boylon said

Jeezus. That Terry Buss guy sounds like a cartoon caricature of a Council bureaucrat. Arrogant prat.

The Basil Fawlty of Local Government:

'We'd be able to run this city properly if it wasn't for these annoying residents continually wanting to have a say in what happens to public land in their area'.

How many too good for SANFL labelled players are actually too good for the SANFL, or equivalent?

I can think of Sam Gray, Kane Mitchell... Andrew Moore? Brett Eddy?

Sometimes an AFL listed player plays a blinder, but do they really dominate week in week out?

Meanwhile the government has delayed the North South corridor plans for a few more months. New Government has changed somethings. As I have written 2 or 3 times, until the North South corridor is locked in, I can't see how anything can get approved by West Torrens council to go past the consultation stage.

Motlop? Too good for SANFL but too ordinary for AFL

Know a couple of transport planners in the DIT and they say they were effectively locked out from involvement in the planning of the Torrens- Darlington stage of the expressway project by the previous government who insisted on using ugly and ineffective elevated ramps for the project for cost cutting reasons despite the fact they would not only create a ghetto-like division between the city and the inner west but would require complete re-engineering within a decade as traffic flows increased.

In their view it was like a re-run of the disastrous one-way southern expressway - where hundreds of millions of dollars of taxpayers money were required in duplicate land acquisition, engineering and construction because the government wanted to skimp up front.

Going back to basics with project design makes sound engineering and economic sense for such a critical piece of infrastructure and that includes things like re-assessing the feasibility of options for extending the tunnel under the Torrens , even if ultimately extends the timeline for the construction project by several years (and adding substantially to the final cost). Of course a publicly accessible independent cost-benefit analysis of options should be an integral part of the consultation process but that will never happen.

As you say, a local council consulting with residents seeking their commitment to sign with a Victorian owned corporation (AFC) for a long term lease and re-orientation of public land when the very orientation of that land is under serious review by the Federal and State Government makes zero sense.

Stuck this in the AFLW general thread but this shocking call of a point by the goal umpire cost Sydney their first win.
