Oh wow.

The 'not a key defender not a flanker' got delisted after inexplicably getting to Saint Kilda after showing that he's that typical 'why isn't he getting more afl games' type of footballer the true football nuffs gush over.

He is the type of player that's the worst kind of list clogger, the ones that are never going to be more than 'meh' and they're getting AFL games because they're just good enough get games and stunt the development and growth of younger more deserving prospects.

You pick fringe players to find out if they sink or swim, liernert unfortunately fits into the player that kinda just floats there.

Harsh on Lienert. The worst kind of list clogger is someone not even up to being depth but who keeps getting played by a delusional selection process. For all his limitations you can't accuse Lienert of those two things in his time at Port. Depth is not quite what people mean as fringe though because a fringe player is make it or bust where depth is some sort of role, but only when needed. Someone like Bonner was fringe, not depth. Good on him for crossing the gap. Agree Skinner was worth a punt having proper KPD attributes but who knows what went wrong physically. I hope we've got some idea.

Which fwd line are you taking in 5 years?

eg.

Georgiades and Marshall v Thilthorpe and Fogarty - evens, Georgiadas and Marshall have easily outperformed them up to now, but they do have potential.

Butters and Rioli v Rachele and Rankine - Crows, but again on potential not actual output as yet. This equation is tilted by me not rating Rioli at all. I'd have Butters as my mid/fwd over Rankine any day of the week.

In the next 5 years we will pick up a small forward or two, so will be an interesting comparison to make.

Their forward line is does not outrate ours anywhere near close enough to make up for a shithouse midfield.

The Crows have an extremely promising young forward line but their kids in every other position are trash. Sam Berry is probably the best of them, and even he projects as only being a slightly better Willem Drew type rather than a star in his own right.

I think they have a higher ceiling

Though TT may play ruck more.

I'd have as more mid so not including him. I don't think he's as natural small fwd as Rachele and Rankine, who both aren't as midfield as he is....

I give credit where it's due, the fwd line has potential to be elite.

Everywhere else, rubbish atm. But frankly forwards are probably the hardest part to find... Midfield shouldn't take long for them to eventually fix up.

A ceiling means zero when they are a similar age and playing at a far lower standard.

Rankine will play as much midfield as Butters, so the comparison is fair.

Berry = Luke Parker
Thilthorpe = Kreuzer or Petrie, depends where they play him
Rachelle and Rankine will probably be good
Anyone else they've drafted can go in the bin

Its starting in the AFL after Netball last week. A counterbalance to sports washing from sports people.

If it takes off Port will be affected by its Santos sponsorship which has now extended from the community programs to the footy club as JMS of the AFLW program and the AGL sponsorship and its coal fired power stations, although if Mike Cannon-Brookes takes them over they might become more acceptable.

If the Woodside sponsorship is say, $1m per year, and Nat Fife hauls in about 10% of Freo's salary cap, I wonder if he'd like to donate $100k a year to climate change causes. He could probably claim a tax deduction!

(and I wonder if his dad, who owns a trucking company, will switch to all electric trucks)

I highly doubt he'll be as capable in the middle
Which brings them together in my rating.
He’ll have to play there for the money he’s on.

In all likelihood this ends up like BLM, abortion rights, Hong Kong, and most other protests in this country where it's the flavour of the month before something else shiny attracts the peasants attention. Clowns like "Just Stop Oil" and "Extinction Rebellion" are getting oxygen in the media at the moment, but something sexier will eventually come up, and everyone will go back to not thinking about it.

Unfortunately any f**khead with a social media account can be an "activist" now, and the vast majority are as dumb as this
