Fair enough - but imho comparing what happened and is happening at Alberton and what is going to happen at Thebarton isn't that helpful mainly because there are already huge traffic flow issues for in that location that already gets a lot of peak hour through traffic and traffic to the shopping centre.

That road that runs west off South Road between the Brickworks shopping centre and Kings Park is a friggin nightmare at peak hour with traffic banked up hundreds of metres at the lights and can only imagine what it will be like when the redevelopment gets going and the crows move in.

The South Road redevelopment will likely fix that now that it has been amended but my understanding is that won't be finished for well over a decade or more.

(PS I appreciate the Thebarton resident group's issues aren't just traffic related)
I am a resident and ratepayer in the city of West Torrens and yes a port adelaide supporter.
I am opposed to this development for two main reasons which are the traffic issues and the decision to give a corporation that regularly makes million dollar profits rent relief!
Torrensville is already heavily congested the streets of Torrensville are typically narrow and already choked with traffic from commuters looking for a way to beat the traffic.
This would make it worse.

Just because the crows are promising to develop the area they get rent relief and rent increase that are aligned to CPI or 3 percent which ever is less.
I can tell you my rates are not forecast to be increasing by 3% each year nor am I being offered bloody rent relief!

Perhaps I should tell the council that I plan on developing my property and they’ll give me a relief from council rates!

King: I think they’ve become the Dallas Cowboys - they just don’t win the big games. They just don’t win against the best teams in the competition, 2-9 against top-eight teams.

You can go back to the prelims if you like and say should they have won those? I get they’re hard to win, but if you’re going to be successful in this competition you’ve got to beat like types.

They’ve been building for a long time now, they’ve got I think a very good list. They’ve chopped and changed how they’ve played, but it’s on the coach for me. All roads come back to Ken Hinkley, and I know he’s been under pressure for years, but he has to deliver with this list.

Their first five weeks - that is it (Brisbane home, Collingwood away, Adelaide, Sydney away, Bulldogs). I think things are really tough for them early and you can get really wobbly as a football club. Ken’s got to make every post a winner in the first five weeks or he won’t be there, they’ll make a call early.

It’s on a knife’s edge this coaching position. Those first four weeks aren’t critical - his coaching career depends on it. We heard the waffle that came out of there last year when they were 0-3, 0-4, 0-5, it’s just too far to come back from.

Johnson: It seems like they’re holding a lot of hope for (Jason) Horne-Francis. It’s exciting they’ve got a No.1 pick into their football club but I still think he’s maybe 2-4 years away from being the player he’ll get to in this competition.

Even in the first practice game, watching him closely, he’s still standing there on the haunches and fatigued in quarters. We all were at that age, so it’s going to take time. Yes he’ll have his moments and he’ll burst out of the pack and we’ll all go wow, how good is that, but we won’t see him consistently at the top level for a few years to come.

Montagna: I’m a bit more bullish, I think they can play finals. No doubt they blew it last year but then they went 8-3, their defence was very strong, and it fell away late.

On top of (Junior) Rioli, Lachie Jones can improve, and if (Orazio) Fantasia stays fit, (Miles) Bergman looks like he’s going to be a beauty on a wing, (Kane) Farrell’s going to fill a role and (Connor) Rozee and (Zak) Butters - there’s still a lot of room for improvement with this side. I think they still believe in Ken and they’ll buy in. They should be expecting to play finals.

Predicted finish
Johnson: Just miss finals
King: Just miss finals
Montagna: Finals

The AFL is bracing for a “fiery” and “forthright” meeting with its 18 clubs, with the league to face questions around a lack of clarity on several pressing issues.

Club presidents are scheduled to meet with the league on Thursday for the annual pre-season catch-up, with clubs anticipated to address various areas of concern with AFL Commission Chair Richard Goyder.

The most pressing issues, according to multiple reports, will surround the AFL football operations manager vacancy, as well as the fact a replacement for departing league boss Gillon McLachlan still hasn’t been finalised.

Thos reminded me the Clarko scandal has gone quiet, will it reappear again one day like the Crows camp scandal did?

Since hav8ng to work with Cornes and listening to his drivel about Ken and us getting JHF from north he’s become a hater of ours and definitely has kenny in his sights.

this will work in our favour cause he will continue to put pressure on the club if we have a shit start And won’t let Cornes cover hinkleys arse.

A blow for North Melbourne on the eve of Rd 1. Ben McKay is dealing with bone stress in his right foot and is set to miss the start of the season

Good. Salary cap breaching is cheating just as much as doping.
Yeah, but the only clubs that will get done will be those who’ve gone a little over by messing up some accounts, those with full systems in place like Geelong won’t even be looked at.

Well, if anyone can hop it's a Kangaroo...

"The Kangaroos say McKay will now offload his foot in the coming weeks as he begins his rehabilitation program."

lol that basically says "Yes salary cheating is going on so we're throwing a public threat out there to see if it stops instead of taking strong affirmative action and naming and shaming".
