Oliver's okay but he's no Brandon Zerk-Thatcher 🙃

Think the heavy drug use that’s been rumoured since last year and info passed on from people around him could have a big affect on how good he is going forward.

Absolutely top 5 player in the comp when on but how committed to football is he if dabbling in the heaviest of drugs that are being strongly rumoured.

Here we go with the overrating of the crows on this thread again.

Clayton Oliver is a gun but the crows need more than one player to be top 4 or top 2.

No petracca, viney and Gawn alongside him in the crows midfield either.

If the crows are going past us we must be banking on all of rozee, butters, jhf going backwards and not improving like most players of their age do.

The Western Bulldogs have announced an eight-year contract extension for Aaron Naughton until the end of 2032

They beat us twice this season and didn't embarrass themselves when they played contending teams.

If Melbourne I'm 100% trying to turn their current draft hand + Oliver into Reid and a top 10 pick
Currently have 5, 13 and 25

You'd think that 5, 13 and say 9 from the crows would be very tempting for Eagles

Then turn 25 and crows future first into a single digit pick
Or just keep Oliver because he’s one of the absolute best mids in the comp, if not the best mid when he is on.

They are in the premiership window right now. Getting an 18yr old replacement to hopefully be half as good as Oliver in the first few years is ridiculous. They need a key forward and that is it.

Their midfield made light work ours in the last two showdowns.
Their rebuild is built on defensive pressure and desperation. As such their next finals campaign will be have a strong foundation.

Our rebuilds are built on sand. Lack of pressure and intensity. We basically turn up when we feel like it.

They beat us twice this season and didn't embarrass themselves when they played contending teams.

And yet still managed only 11 wins out of 23, 6 wins less than us.

I suppose we were better than hawthorn in 2015 because we beat them twice that year.

Would you seriously rather their list than ours? I think even most sensible crows fans would deep down admit their list is not as good as ours.

And yes I get it Hinkley is our coach, but there is still plenty of upside in our list. You could put clarry in their midfield but ours is still better.

I never thought I’d say this but nicks is a significant upgrade on Hinkley.

Nicks’ coaching philosophy has made them a hardened, more defensive minded and far more fitter team that ours.

It pretty much rules out any player differential between the lists.

This can’t be true.

Have you been watching Ports? It is entirely possible one area or random group of players regresses. That's been a constant in the Hinkley era. The inability of the list to improve together and the puzzle pieces to never quite fit together.

11 and 12 has been their best season since 2017. It’s not like we are taking about a Craig McRae led Collingwood here.

They’ve achieved nothing and yet we have this tendency to fall head over heels for them over any small sign of improvement.

Tex defied the odds this year producing a career best year at the age of 33. The odds of that being repeated is not impossible but it’s unlikely at that age. He was by far their most influential player this year.

I considered Nicks a more dour Hinkley, but somehow he managed to turn a geriatric Walker in to one of the games best forwards.

Star Demon Clayton Oliver is open to a move to the Crows. Adelaide's interest is real, so if it evolves, its offer would need to start with pick 9, a future 1st, plus Shane McAdam. The Crows also have picks 21 and 24, and Doedee compo.
I hope if it is true then Melbourne would want some key position forward players

It’s also entirely possible we are heavily overrating the crows again.

They should have finished top 4 this year really...
Defensively they were decimated and lost a stack of close games against good opposition

I dont think it would

"We cant be better than the crows all the time!!@ we've had a better record than them for x amount of years!!"
Crows will likely win a flag before we will or atleast make a grand final. Everyone else that we thought was no where near it have in the end.

Bulldogs
Richmond
Melbourne
Now Collingwood...

All won one since we thought Ken was going to take us on a dynasty after the 2014 season and they're were all a rabble at one stage around then.
