Only 11k last night for their 2nd game of the season after a strong "opening round" win. How is this viable after nearly 15 years? What's the ultimate goal here with the Suns? Are we expecting the crowd numbers to rise? Or are they content with 10-15K at every game and surely bleeding money every season they exist? Where is it going from here?

I thought the same watching the game, but they probably need some sustained success to get more people going. The conditions were horrendous and they don't have much of a rusted on support base to sacrifice a warm dry night at home to brave those conditions.

At the moment they are just a vehicle for the AFL to play every week in Queensland and maintain their profile.

I couldn't care less, I'm just curious what the target is for the AFL. Do they purely exist for TV revenue? How long until we can expect an increase in support?
Genuinely curious as someone that didn't live through that time, what were Brisbane like when they first entered the comp as the Bears? Similar to the GC situation now?

A game every week in the Queensland market and for TV.

Ongoing hearts and minds outreach for junior participation — of which the bananabenders surpassed SA some time ago.

The SUNS bobbing up to actually be seriously competitive once in a bloom hoon and getting anywhere near filling the 22000 capacity of their redeveloped boutique stadium (which is owned by the state but operated by the AFL/club) will merely be icing on the cake.

Who actually lives on the Gold Coast? Shark-like property developers and old men in white shoes?

Only 8k at the Giants home game, the week after their barnstorming win against the premiers. That's the lol N0rf factor for you I guess. Still, the AFL (and Victorian taxpayers) will be gratified with the world record crowd at the constantly developed GBH Stadium swelling the weekly attendance number.

I remember seeing an AFL ad last year that was literally “spend a weekend in sunny Queensland watching your team play at Metricon”.

It carries a fair dollop of the Jacksonville Jaguars playing a couple of games in London every year.

I live here, and your assumption is close to correct.

Though you’re missing Instagram, TikTok and Fans Only streamers shaking their booty’s for a dime a click to pay rent for their over inflated 1 bed apartments.

Luck for me I'm a Landlord :)

It’s weird, but they do better than the Titans.

Rhylee West moves and plays so much like Robbie, with about 9% of the talent.

Ben Brown with the 32 step approach for a set shot for goal.

Max Gawn getting bullied on the field is my happy place.
