Autopsy Port versus an actual football team

I welcome the crap and ridicule.

The more the better.

I won't be offended by any of it and I won't be defending us against any of it. It's true.

We need to go through the furnace and make yhr necessary changes to come out better

I 100% agree but will we

i was torn last night during the game do i hope we bring it back to a 30pt loss or hope it blows out above 100 so we can see some real change.

listening to Koch during the weak, he loves Ken, he ain’t sacking ken, no way will this happen under his watch.

unfortunately we are going to meander along for the term of his contract being this being average is okay mentality.

**** what this club has become..

It’s that time of the year again where I consider taking up more hobbies to soften the blow of events such as last night.

I don’t understand how after 2 weeks off we can give a team a 6 goal head start in our biggest game of the year, it truly baffles me.

as for the club, they need to work out whether Hinkley can get them to the next level, that’s just high performance sport.

On the question of how we can possibly come out so flat under the circumstances, I don't think the fortnight break after the Qualifying Final does us any favours. It's just an extra week for players to lose touch while having smoke blown up their ass about how they're the "real deal" this time around.

Melbourne seem to have no problem with it.

Saw some drunk guy on the way out tip his beer on the ground, slipped over and started backstroking in said puddle of beer.

to be fair, that is brilliant! Haha

I think last year hurt more - I truly realised a premiership wasn’t coming with this group then.

This year was just a big facade as last night proved. The law of diminishing returns - something this regime will be known for - caught up to them.

Be ruthless - Gray, Boak, Motlop, Jonas, Dixon, McKenzie all told they’re not best 22 so they can either deal with that or retire/be traded.

Ruck succession begins now - Hayes to get games in the first five rounds of the season. If he catches fire keep him in and Lycett plays sparingly.

Rozee gets an ultimatum - grab the brass ring in ‘22 or we’ll start seeing you as a squad player at best. Duursma and Butters get your body and head right

Float SPP, DBJ and Marshall on the trade table.

All this is hamstrung by the head coach - we don’t have the money to be rid of him and the assistants are not prospering to the point of deserving the head position.

Again Port Adelaide is a myth, a laughing stock - the definition of an AFL “Lolcow”.

At the very least:

Freeze membership prices for the members who went last night.

Apologise to Russell Ebert. Like right now.

Not at all - I was simply pointing out that it's a bit rich for the Dogs coach to be complaining about umpires, after the armchair ride they got last week.

True although both our teams like last year were in box seats to secure GF spots but frustratingly didn’t come up with the goods so at least from a Lions perspective hard to blame the umpires😒

Well last night officially wasn't a nightmare. Time for some more melting.

**** you to the 22 players who went out there after ****ing around all week and treated it like a ****ing captain's run.

And a greater **** you to the coach, who never ****in learns.

The thing I hated the most was after the QF win, CD said, we let them have the weekend off to freshen up. Imagine training and working for something for several months, but also effectively several years, it's on your absolute doorstep and you decide to just take it a bit easy. **** that, get to the club, day and night, do extra skills sessions, extra recovery, live and breathe it and sacrifice every moment for the next few weeks to have the ultimate glory. The ****in mentality of these people involved these days I just can't comprehend. All the ****in training photos all week were of a bunch of blokes having a laugh and staying relaxed. What a crock of shit. It didn't mean anything until you see them come out and dish that up and you realise their mentality just wasn't right.

The break should be an advantage, but in our case I don't think it is. I almost think we would've been better off losing the QF, winning the SF and going into the PF as underdogs.
I think you are right in terms of mindset with this group, the mental pigmy can't handle expectation thing is embedded in the walls.

I reckon my biggest worry coming into this was that Beveridge would just look at how Matthew Nicks and his bottom 4 crows completely stifled our run and held us to 1 goal to half time and just kind of replicate that. But unlike those crows his Bulldigs had the talent to absolutely obliterate us going the other way.
We never really improved late in the season. We just copped an out of form Bulldogs struggling to put the pieces together in round 23, and a geriatric Geeling on the edge of the Grand Canyon.

If the time stamps are correct then:

Ollie Wines - 2 disposals in the first 18 minutes
Travis Boak - 2 disposals in the first 17 minutes, none in the first 9
Karl Amon - 2 disposals in the first 24 minutes
Zac Butters - 3 disposals in the first 20 minutes
Williem Drew - 0 disposals in first 20 minutes
Xavier Duursma - 2 disposals in 23 minutes
Robbie Gray - 0 disposals in first 24 minutes
Connor Rozee - 3 disposals in 23 minutes

16 minutes in it was 32-0. Our midfields disposal count at that time:
Wines - 1
Boak - 1
Amon - 1
Butters - 2
Drew - 0
Duursma - 1
Gray - 0
Rozee - 2

16 minutes in, their counterparts:
Smith - 7
Macrae - 6
Dunkley - 2
Hunter - 4
Liberatore - 7
Bontompelli - 3
Treloar - 3

I just don't get how our midfield could be that unprepared for a scrap in a Prelim Final.

Try Ladhams at fullback.
Try Garner up forward.
Leave Butters and Rozee in the middle.
Make Wines the Captain.
Try Hayes in Ruck.
Make either Montgomery or Schofield the Senior coach.

Generational change must start now.
If it doesn't happen then Koch has to go.

Bulldogs were prepared, with a game plan to shut down our strengths and maximise theirs…

we just thought we could chip it around, create easy free possessions and waltz around being allowed to do whatever we wanted with it…

they planned to take aliir out of the contest, shut down the easy cheap outlet passes and switches of play which we do a lot too create forward movement. No space to shut down our small forwards…

we were out coached, out thought, out prepared, out worked and out played.

We’re talking 3 minutes into a home prelim and they can’t even be arsed moving.

I wouldn’t be shocked if it eventually comes out that someone had the bright idea of working in a heavy training load to overcome the double-bye.

They were just so physically flat, and seemingly mentally powerless to resist.
