He looks fine. :D

Billy in MUCH better shape after the break than last year. Perhaps he has been banned from unsupervised trips to America. Hopefully he has learnt his lesson. Good to see.

Even worse than VBs I got the impression (from one of his interviews) that it might have been VBs while playing WoW. That's a truly scary combination.
Says a lot about me that I like him more now than before this revelation.

Who here hasn't thought they'd benefit from enchanted tinnies of leaping only for it not to pan out.

Him and Carlisle need to get together - they might balance each other out.

Billy is a cracking fella. He's either nearly asleep or asleep, even at the footy club! The most laid back, funny kid you'd ever meet but the thing I love is that as soon as he runs onto the ground he has white line fever. He's going to be such a physical ruckman for us when he matures and he'll look after our mids so well. Very popular amongst the group.

Anyone heard anything on what sort of shape longer turned up in?

Did he manage to stay away from the pies this year?
I think Bill has learnt his lesson.

It wasn't the pies that got him, it was the beers & massive meals whilst on his USA trip (watching one of his old school mates play College Football)

Carlisle light duties marking the finishing line at St Kilda beach.

Seriously though, Sebby Ross baby! I've only ever jumped on an "unproven" with such enthusiasm (that doesn't sound right), and that was one Sam Fisher. He's gonna be a player.
I wonder if JC's gonna pull out the ol' Robbie Fowler special when he kicks a sausage roll against Essenscum?

I'd pass the hat around to pay his fine... :D

Webster has a brace on his wrist, and from the photos seems to be in rehab with Billings.

And Longer's one of the players I could actually see myself being mates with.

Having met Billy I can confirm that. He's a big teddy bear and a king of the kids. He tracked my son down with a pen after about 20 minutes because he didn't have one with him. It made my kids day to be remembered by him.

I honestly couldn't tell you the full standings mate, there was a pretty big field.
I know that Ross, Acres and Bruce particularly impressed those that matter.,
Do you think that with a continue in developing his tank, Acres can play some inside midfield this year?

plan is for acres to get alot more exposure. his first two years were about getting his body right. Right now he is ahead of what was planned. expecting a big year if this keeps up.

Billings is on an extremely cautious approach. Club is very much aware of how annoying and painful stress fractures can be if they linger.
But he has pretty much lived in the gym over the break. Would be right up there with freeman in terms of the amount of work they have put in during there break.

all being said and done, initial feedback about carlisle was how the coaches were impressed with his commitment to coming back and righting his wrong. From very limited exposure he has come back very fit, already endearing himself with the group.

as some have said Dunstan is massive at the moment - looks like ollie wines in stature, not sure if he keeps all the bulk but i cant wait to see him out there

Should we be concerned that we haven't heard anything about all the players smashing their PB's yesterday?

I guess we're going to have to stay positive with the fact that Ross, Acres and Eli were all top 5. We also had Freeman and Dunstan out who would have likely been top 5 also. Add that to usual performers like Geary and Dempster and we have around 10 blokes in the top 5 runners at the club at the moment, that has to be good news.

We changed from running a 2km time trial to a 3km trial so I'm not sure if any of the 1st- 4th year players would have a record of running 3km trial. We then ran the 2km trial straight after the 3km trial but i find it very unlikely anyone would have broken their PB after already running 3km!
