Heard werribee have lost half their senior list from last years side???
Apparently a lot of boys had issues with the coach
Just to name a few who left

Tristan angelini
Chris scudamore
Nathan black
Nathan adamo (their captain)
Matt Taylor
Daniel riosa
Jesse mclellan

With no additional pick ups for werribee sounds like a long year for them...

Fair assesment, but OM's appear to be in a little early trouble.

Transfers are usually denied if the player still owes the club outstanding subs or fees for jumpers/sox/shorts.

Of the Werribee list, only 2 or 3 were regular senior players. The fact they've probably been offerred cash from local clubs and may feel a need to lock in their allegiance may explain the early rash of clearances.

Nothing to get fussed about, Werribee have plenty of talent to be competitive.
Who were werribees regulars max leader?

Not too sure about the ins and outs, but black will hurt, as will Taylor.

They have a very good under 19's, 18's and junior program, so maybe not the calibre of black and Taylor, but the rest of them would have struggled to get a game in the seniors each week. Riosa went ok, as mclellan was ok without being great.

addamo finished in the magoos too, was injury prone.

I wouldn't worry too much about the tiges.

Most that have left are seconds players that would have struggled to get a game with the influx of the 18's/19's.

And fairly sure most players chasing coin rather than having issue with the coach. Nick diker the ex reserves coach has pinched most of the players to glen orden in the wrfl division 2.

Will be interesting how they go playing in front of the ferals out there!

Don't talk crap TT, like any club they are reeling that they have lost. Am sure blokes like Tritt and Scud would have picked themselves week in week out. Werribee have done a great job when it comes to holding on players but they should know as much as anyone mates make fantastic recruiters of footy clubs. BTW am sure those boys will be fine playing in front of the so called ferals. Been to a game at soldiers in the last few years? A bloke I work with who plays for Fitzroy has post traumatic stress disorder after playing there.

What a Ridiculous comment!

Yeah a b grade reserves player is going to make that cash!

Sadly the comment is actually not that far off the mark. A fringe seniors player from our club (Premier A) has been offered $500 a game plus bonuses in the 2nd division of a local suburban league. Absolute madness. If this is market value what are they paying blokes straight out of the AFL? In some suburban / country leagues the size of the chequebook dictates your level of success.

How many all in brawls involving the crowd have been played at soldiers..... Flog.

Trit played some up some down. Scudda can play.

They are replaceable though.

Black isn't. But Trent lee wasn't either and they done alright since then

I have a mate who is involved there and he said the coach (can't remember his name) has no idea who he's losing... To go up a grade and lose players rather than gain, it's just not going to work...
As simple as a call and chat after the season to see how they are going...a lot of good players leaving good clubs but just don't feel like they are needed... They are a long way from a grade footy... It's a shame because if they had a team like last year playing b grade this year i think could have had it covered.

Can't imagine who would be in that leadership group... Sounds like it would be a rabble

Hey does anyone know how teams like ajax, oakleigh and in particular Beaui are going this pre season? i think beaui had alot of potential last year aswell....do they have any players returning from overseas and long term injury?

Beauy looking very good, a few back from the VFL, a team to watch this year. OTP, let the boys go at it, this forum has become boring, hence the lack of posts in the last 2 years.

O k will try and give the real Werribee situation as i no it . Yes i am involved in a small way for last 2 years and cant beleive some of the stuff that is posted. 12 players to Glen orden of which 3 played seniors last year 6 didnt get a game in ressies and 2 got a game 1 not regulary. Adamo had 5 meetings with the coach and the relationship which was very strong as i see it ended when after 8 weeks out and the way we won the second semi couldnt get back in. Scudda was simply money . Tritta who was not a regular 1s player left because his best mate couldnt get a game in the 2s i am lead to beleive they are now regretting that decision from the horses mouth.Black only came back last year because of the coach and was never playing this year dollars were just to big and coach new that from day one. Riosa money at hoppers what do you do. The coach has always had the philosophy if players want to leave he will just try and develop more to step up. Has worked for last 6 years 2 flags 3 promotions never missed finals. We had 90 players train last week and there are 4 come back that will play senior footy. At this stage 4 of last years 19s will also be in line for senior selection and have stepped up as did the 5 he brought up last year. We have moved on and hope the players that have left have success and there respective clubs also . Kirk is the only one who still supports the people who have moved on and the players and coaches still keep in contact so to make out there is implications is so wrong just speak to the ones who didnt have the shits about not getting a game and they will answer your doubts. And let me tell you when he moves on or gets moved on then you could see a real player mutiny.

Thanks for the summary - 6/8 denied so far, so a bit of argy bargy going on I imagine.

It doesn't matter if they haven't been cleared, the VAFA will anyway as it's an ammo comp, simple.
Will be great to have Werribee in B Section this year, welcome fellows!

Two early leaders for "The Biggest Loser" or 2012

Old Melburnians AFL Queensland Armstrong, Angus Pending 02/02/12
Not a senior player. No loss.

Old Melburnians Old Mentonians Beck, Cameron Pending 01/02/12
Not the Cameron Beck who is their full forward. This is his namesake who played in the Club XVIII. No loss.

Old Melburnians VFL & TAC CUP Campbell, Thomas Pending 02/02/12
A triumph of OM's development program. Years at Old Scotch couldn't get him listed, but ONE GAME for OM's and he gets drafted. No impact in 2011, so no real loss.

Old Melburnians VFL & TAC CUP Dunell, Samuel Pending 02/02/12
Another triumph of OM's development program.
Owing to Bendigo Bombers duties, limited games for OMFC in 2011 (part of the problem).

Old Melburnians Eastern Football League (EFL) Henley, Nathan Pending 01/02/12
Huge Loss in quality, but only played 4 games due to injury, so not a loss compared to last year if that makes sense? Club understands his decision and apparently wishes him well.

Old Melburnians University Blues Nash, Jonno Pending 02/02/12
Good luck to the coaching staff at U.B.

Old Melburnians Eastern Football League (EFL) Taylor, Simon Pending 01/02/12
Never showed half of his potential after the club invested so much in getting him. Left mid season for the Greek islands (with 20 others). Very disappointing. Only played 4 or 5 games.

Old Melburnians Gippsland League Young, Phillip Pending 01/02/12
Biggest loss. Played every game. Quality lad from Wonthaggi, but wanted to go home - the potential trip from Wonthaggi to Werribbee weighed heavily on his decision. A back pocket specialist, so a young lad should be able to step into the breach.

First post for Year and have not read previous posts as have heard all this crap every year for last 20 years at Werribee.
Players come and players go. What matters are the players you have.
Werribee has a long standing attitude of winning flags not just making make up numbers which Kirk has instilled into his players. He has the ability to get the most out of players, which was seen last year in Cam Lee winning Premier C, B&F.
Treat Werribee with respect or perish in our path to GLORY!
Bring on 2012, the Year of the TIGER!

Rah Rah - Dunnell played enough games to win your B & F. A huge loss. Take your point about Nash however he is a very good player. Are Steve Nash and Wayne Oswald going with Jono to UB? Now that would be a win for OMs ;)

Campbell an interesting one. Went to school at Scotch, played for Collegians, crossed over the road to OMs and then played the season in the VFL.

West - the ‘crap’ seems to be coming from WRFL agitators. Several here have acknowledged that most are not senior players anyway.

Indeed. A star and a good young guy. The fact he won the B&F despite missing so many games says a lot about the OM's season - both for him and the rest of the list!

WRFL anagram is well suited ( Worst Run Football League)

Close. Went to school at Wesley but played for Old Scotch. Thought he would be a better chance of getting a premiership!

Sorry - got that one the wrong way around. I meant attended Wesley and played at Scotch. A curious choice, particuarly if the motivation was playing in a premiership.

I think you will find that Tom Campbell has followed Wayne Oswald in his travels - Sandringham then OS then OM's. Where will Oswald be this year?
