i don't think eric has played the attractive gym instructor song live since it came out
yeah that & Proper Education just don't seem to fit his style anymore

  • Their forward line doesn’t scare me
  • Midfield has more than a touch of Dad’s Army about it
  • Moore rusty after injury interruption
  • No Nick Daicos
Only genuine match winner in their 22 is De Goey. I’d 💯 be bringing Pig Hibberd in specifically to sweat on his ass all day.

I like our chances in this game. I really do. It’s Clarry, Tracc, Jack, Max & Gus time. More of our stars are are in the sweet spot hitting zone of their careers. A few too many of their blokes are on the other side of Father Time Hill, being pulled down by gravity. I believe that’s going to be the difference at the end of the day.

I’m feeling a win. Quietly confident. But I’m feeling it.

One of the big problems Collingwood had last year, I believe, was the conested possessions (General Stats). So they brought Mitchell in to help address that. This is still a problem in 2023 it is not so much for Melbourne.

Kicking accuraccy will decide the winner (I feel). Last game Melbourne should have won by 20+ but left the door open for them to steal the game.

The loss of Melksham is a big blow, both for him personally but also for our team structure. Melksham was posing as a real aerial threat that was troubling backlines, as was Petty before him. I really hope losing both of them doesnt cost us the flag, but it definitely costs us versality up forward and the coaching staff now have to re-think how we're going to kick enough goals.

Obviously Grundy is not an option and I don't really even see the wisdom in selecting TMac - he does little more than create a target but can't feel that he's going to be badly exposed given he hasn't played at AFL level for months.

Goody might need to get creative and rotate a few players up forward to see what works. I would start with Smith because of his like for like aerial ability compared to Melksham.

TMac kicked 5 in the 2’s on his return on the weekend. That’s good enough for me. He’s past his prime but he understands body positioning, ball movement coming forward, how to support the other tall (JVR) in his role. TMac is infinitely more preferable to Smith who may have some athleticism but zero footy IQ. As a sub he’s okay because he comes on with energy and bounce and can unsettle defences a bit. But no way would I trust him as a starting key forward in our biggest game since the ‘21 Grand Final.

Fair enough

I hear Fritta’s left foot is insured for $50 million and will eventually be preserved and encased in glass at the Melbourne museum Phar Lap’s heart style.

Match committee played Bowey in 2021 as a young kid.

I think they will back in Turner/Laurie unless they really believe there's some match ups they want to avoid.

I thought both showed a bit against Sydney

I still think Hibberd for Turner and Smith to sub. I think Turner could be a player for us, but I'll be a little nervous in big finals. Maybe they've put a line through Hibbo and Tommo?

Mate Fritsch just came in from injury and kicked 5. Moore will be fine and he's a gun. So is Quaynor, so is Josh Daicos.
They have quality everywhere you don't finish first with 1 good player.

Luke Dunstan did his ACL. I think we just forfeit this game.

They are saying we can win, you said they have one good player it's a lot different.

GC have more than one good player

They’re not just saying we can win. They are favouring us to win. Key difference.

I also said they have one match winner. Nothing about ‘one good player’.

Please be accurate TK.

Cmon mate. If we have 5-7 match winners and they have one show us the bet slip of us 40+

Even the biggest dee nuffie would have to admit the line is super close on this one
