He was safe as soon as he was extended, results never mattered. But there's no way that he misses if he's not marginal in terms of his body. He played 11 games without being managed and is only 3 games back after a month off with injury. There's little doubt he's not quite right again.
Also off the back of two six day breaks. Absolutely makes sense to rest him. Now.

Surely idiotic comments from Nicks not knowing we are playing under a roof this weekend makes his sacking a few weeks sooner?

So sub can only come from the bench?
Doesn’t have to... but nearly always does.

Either they manage Hinge as sub, or sadly make Bond sub after a decent debut. Madness if the case ahead of Smith.

Had a great opportunity to bring in Curtin for Murphy, but sadly this selection committee are clueless about prioritising for next year.

2 big fails for me.

Agree with managing Tex though.

Maybe Rash will be sub with his knee

Have a feeling the sub will be Rachele given he's battling a knee niggle; last listed on the bench has a very high strike rate of being the sub.

How would we actually line up this squad? - for balance seems like we might either run bond or max in the mid- or Curtin is a cheeky late in for Smith’s eardrum

Curtin a late in for Smith would be such a very AFC way to do it...

Let the incumbent 'Senior' player look like he's been selected but then pull him last minute due to a mystery injury cloud to save face and not suffer any ignominy of being 'dropped'.

At this point I don't care how they get Curtin in.......
Meanwhile Murphy named, starting, not even off the bench🤢
