He's nowhere near ready for it, and would be nowhere near the top 10 in the rising star, let alone contending had we started him as a midfielder since round one.

He may be that player in the future, and there is a lot of upside in his profile. He's not that in the present.

The kids confidence would be at an all time low due to the appalling way in how Nicks has handled him.

Who’s to say how much further along he would be if we had handled it better and recognised him as a mid/forward from day one and not a KPD. Confidence in first year players can be everything.

That ball movement was the most un-Nicks ball movement I've seen all year.

Appraising young players isn't about the stats. It's about the flashes, the traits.
