Watching live, Hind needs to be dropped.
On the one occasion I recall Hind rebounding with his run he generated an entry and an opportunity. Our run and carry from HB seems to have disappeared. I asked rhetorically in the game thread whether they might be being instructed not to, or maybe there's a distance limit that we're adhering to, but he was a deadset passenger today.

Our small guys want someone else to compete in the air and it’s embarrassing when they all sit off waiting for someone else to impact the marking contest, only for the opposition to take it uncontested. Caldwell has done it in at least 3 games now. He’s not the only offender.

It needs to be addressed, and if it already has been, then addressed again and again and again.

I think he could be more effective if his speed was used to effect. There was one time, maybe in the 3rd, when he was free in the corridor and Redman (I think) went down the line from near goal, where it broke down because we seemed incapable of taking a contested mark, and came right back. Hind still had the legs then to make a centre break. Lack of confidence led to another goal for them.

We've been full of excuses for the last 20 years. I'm sick of excuses.
We’re probably another two drafts from getting enough talent on the list to match the best sides. Probably need at least a couple of preseasons to build our fitness to a competitive level. The game plan needs to evolve into a form that can trouble top sides.

It takes time.

Maybe you should just hide under a rock until then.

It will be challenged by Port and downgraded to a fine. They will say it’s was accidental.
He'll get a week at minimum, you can't accidentally knock a guy in the jaw off the ball and not get cited for it. Ridley will miss next week so it won't be judged low impact either.

Everyone goes into a rebuilding year with the lowest expectations until you get a couple of wins on the board and suddenly it's not a rebuilding year anymore.

We said that 2 drafts ago, 3 drafts ago, 2 before that, etc,etc all the way too when we won the draft with Gumbleton, Jetta, Houli, Reimers

Careless, high contact, medium impact is a week – same grading as Merrett's tackle a few weeks ago

They would have to argue for low impact, which given Ridley was concussed, I don't know how they argue that

Best part of the match was crowd related for mine.

At some point in the second or third quarter we got a free from Horne-Franci and the Port crowd were booing pretty loudly.

Essendon bloke behind me times it perfectly but as the boos start to quieten down he yells "Oy, stop booing Horne-Francis, just let the kid play."

Chuckles from both fans.

Not that it's stating the bleeding obvious but Langford down back as soon as any problem arises there has to stop asap. It just kills us forward.
Fair point, but who else did we have with any height to send back?

Concussed like that is usually is high impact minimum which is two weeks.

If they grade it severe which is also possible and sometimes gets done for off the ball concussion its tribunal

and if they grade it as intentional it's worse again

but idk how they get it downgraded far enough to avoid a suspension

Could have won it in the end. Ridley stays on and we win that. All our defensive talls except Zerk out,we had to move our most dangerous forward back to cover Ridley. Could have folded last qtr but didn’t. Scott building a great base

Our bottom 5 or 6 hurt us week in week out today
Hind - just doesn't do enough
Caldwell - I just don't see what he brings he should be better
sheil - has never played a complete game
Davey - not his fault but not ready yet
Menzies - surely Voss would offer more

(Normally put heppel in there but I thought he was OK, it is his last year though)

The side is lacking a bonafied superstar, we have nobody in the side that says come on fella jump on my back and I will get us home. It is also desperate that we get a KPP full back. It's time to open that war chest
