I said at the time Ratten was lucky to get an extension. Obviously the list has to be questioned but I didn't think he was getting the best out of them.

However once they decided to extend him then he deserved at least another season.

One of Nicks, Hinkley, Dew and Simpson will go if any of those clubs start poorly.

It’s delusional, Saints might be the team furthest from a flag in the comp.

Nowhere near contending, can’t bring in talent because no one wants to go there.

They will plug along for the next 2-3 years finishing anywhere from 6-12. Never being the worst but nowhere near the best.

It’s ******* embarrassing.
Having a realist view of the player list is important to make the right decisions going forward.

St Kilda after Lyon never really had a real direction. Partly going to the draft and partly topping up. That approach has left them in the middle of the pack.

Middle of the pack ..

I call it “ drifting aimlessly in the vast endless cosmic soup of seasons gone by with no hope or purpose “

Definitely was poor recruiting. But I would think a Essendon supporter should be the last to bag another clubs list management when was your last finals win again
Have you seen our list of under 25s ?

You’ll soon see the full arsenal of talent we will unleash

It's crazy to me how many clubs don't realize the problem is with those making all the decisions - not the coach. Essendon, St Kilda, North, it's just the same nonsense over and over again. How many reviews can you conduct before you realize that it's management and those who are tasked with managing the club as a whole, that are the ones to blame?

The fish rots from the head down. Look at what happened to Carlton once they realized that and actually brought in someone like Cook to turn the ship around. Stop getting ex bankers or outside people with glorified resumes and actually hire people that have good business and CULTURE sense, rather than just a focus on targets, goals and profit...without any clear plan to achieve them.

It's become a joke now how often this is happening and how many 'reviews' are being conducted. I can only wonder how the players at these clubs feel, without any sense of stability or competent management. Supporters are probably at their wits end too. I'm sure we'll probably be saying the same about Brad Scott in another 2 years.

Seriously embarrassing.
to be honest the strength and conditioning department should of been sacked 1st

Rumour has it that they are now chasing Blighty again, but will only sign him if he agrees to use footballs in the preseason this time. Watch this space
We are not. We've already signed up Jobe Watson. And one of the board members has thrown his hat in the ring to take over when we sack Jobe in round 5. ;)

Saints have to be nuts trying to bring Ross Lyon back. Closest he got to any success was with a game plan that's so outdated it's now the complete opposite of what teams are doing. The game now couldn't be any further from his nature.

No chance he's coming in with some amazing attacking game plan tailored to 2023 that Ratten couldn't pull off. Combine that with him being one huge stubborn bastard that won't change anything when it fails, odds are they end up sacking him within a year or two.
