We've always been too old too slow too good.So it appears that all of Henry, SDK, Bruhn, Holmes, Clark, & Dempsey are going to be playing.
Conway/Neale are maybes going by Scotts comments, with Stengle, Close, Miers, Zuthrie, Bowes, & Jack Henry all playing too.
Not exactly a side that screams 'too old, too slow' is it? But I'm sure we'll still cop that treatment from the mouth breathers of the footy world.
Oh I know, sorry I should have included a tongue out or something so you knew I was taking the piss.Absolutely not doing close. Arguing about how close is close enough for Conway
It's been 31 years since the "baby bombers" so maybe....We've always been too old too slow too good.
Us this now too young, too skinny, too inexperienced?
Best 23 looks all the more intimidating in photos! I like it.I did that predict your team thing on the app, this is the squad i expect... not the one I would like to see
I don't understand the Bews whacks on here, i think he plays... the Kola is a coaches fave so he will... it comes down to Reg/Shark for me and i think they will go Tuohy.
I may also just be assuming that Dempsey plays.. he deserves it, I am a massive Dempsey stan.. so that may be impacting my vision on it all, could easily be MOC in and Ollie D not playing

Unless Chris Scott was taking the piss on AFL360 Jhye Clark is a certain starter.Best 23 looks all the more intimidating in photos! I like it.
I agree about Bews too. Looked hampered last year, but if he's fit he's plays a role not many others can play.
One change from this team I'd like to see is Mannagh for Rd 1. Maybe for Clark? The former knows what he can produce in the vfl, it's time to see how it translates to the highest level. The latter can use games and continuity at whichever level, but better if it's in his prefered role.
Would be next level trolling, even for Chris Scott standards if he doesn’t.Unless Chris Scott was taking the piss on AFL360 Jhye Clark is a certain starter.
When he said Jhye Clark, Tanner Bruhn and Max Holmes would play big roles for us he forgot to add that it was in the VFL.Would be next level trolling, even for Chris Scott standards if he doesn’t.
I wouldn't be surprised if you were right, but I'd be a bit disappointed. The closer this game gets the more I think it will be Dempsey who is our tactical sub
I must admit I didn't hear what he said. I'm happy to see him play of course, just think continuity is the key for the younger players, whichever level.Unless Chris Scott was taking the piss on AFL360 Jhye Clark is a certain starter.
I can see how you would be disappointedI wouldn't be surprised if you were right, but I'd be a bit disappointed.
He was sub or subbed off in all bar one game that he played last year (Which coincidently he looked good in, albeit it was the dead rubber in R24). We need to give him some uninterrupted gametime to see if he can impact games without feeling like he needs to do something spectacular because he's only got a short period of time to make an impact.
I agree, I can't see MOC of Tuohy not getting picked. I think the only way he plays is if someone like Bowes is sub, which I'd also be disappointed with, or maybe Clark, but Scott alluded to him playing by the sounds of it.I can see how you would be disappointed
But IMO I can’t see him being named over 2E or O’Connor
Always think it’s extremely unlikely Mannagh gets a game at all
I would like to see Mannagh as well, and I actually expect he gets a crack early but just not quite yet and if he does i have NFI who is out for that to happen.Best 23 looks all the more intimidating in photos! I like it.

Selwood back as Tim Watson? It's been 31 years since the "baby bombers" so maybe....
For the meat tray:
B: J. Henry, SDK, Zuthrie
HB: Stewart, Kolo, Holmes
C: Miers, Bowes, Blics
FO: Stanley, Danger, Bruhn
HF: O. Henry, J. Cameron, Dempsey
F: Stengle, Hawkins, Close
INT: T. Atkins, Duncan, J. Clark, Tuohy
Sub: O'Connor
EMG: Mannagh, S. Neale, Bews, Conway
I reckon we'll see Mannagh very early.Ok…so for us doing the meat tray early…I am hearing that Bowes may have a niggle…so I am going to redo my 23 without him. I am torn between who I want to replace him (Mannagh) and who I think will be next in (either Bews or Mullin)
Backs: SDK, Henry, Stewart, Kolo, Zuthrie, Holmes
MF: Stanley, Danger, Bruhn, Clark, Blitz, 2E
Forwards: Hawk, Jezza, Miers, Close, Stengle, Henry
Int: Atkins, Dempsey, MOC, Bews, Duncan
So I went with Bews…not because I wanted to but I am working on “pecking order”.
I would pick Mannagh but I think they will feel overloaded with forwards (even though I think he could do mid…) so they will go with small defender that could release Holmes back into MF. I think right now Bews still above Mullin in pecking order for the MC?
Going to be interesting…
Also we will for the first time see 23 without knowing the sub. But pretty sure sub will be whoever they pick of those three
That is an excellent post…makes me think….and dont forget to add in Max who missed 22 but was also a first round draft pick - I think?Interesting thing about this team is it’s the 2022 Premiership team with the addition of 4 first round draft picks (Bowes, Bruhn, O.Henry and Clark) - the only one outside first rounder is Dempsey (who could be anything). It’s a very good side.

I agree but I hope in VFL (if he doesnt get the AFL tick this week) they mix him between mid and forward - to add to the flexibility.I reckon we'll see Mannagh very early.
We already know he's too good for VFL level, and the barring ridiculous luck, we're going to have an injury of some sort over the first month or so of the season.

But unless our players have really fallen off the cliff 18 months after smashing the swans we should have high expectations. Those additions are going to be great players and 3 of them (I don’t think Bowes will play) are at the start of exponential growth phase with Clark and Dempsey being the only really inexperienced players. Wow
That's odd... They are usually so open and honest about injury issues and there was an update only yesterday!Ok…so for us doing the meat tray early…I am hearing that Bowes may have a niggle…so I am going to redo my 23 without him.
