I think you mean external review.

Are you suggesting some sort of rift between Stocker and Barker?
You’re right, *external. And not at all. Plenty of discussion about Barker but I think we can at least excuse him for not launching out of the coaches box and onto the field for Stocker’s first goal.

Who needs Freddy Krueger when you have memories of O’Shea turnovers and kicking the ball out on the full.

Watching him kick the ball used to make me scream O SH**!!!

Wondering what people think of development after tonight

Dow, Kennedy, Stocker, SPS, JSos
Seems that when THEY train hard they improve??? Dow cited harder training after the game. Kennedy ‘in career best shape’. Stocker got himself much fitter in the off season. JSOs has worked very hard on his running.Maybe (god forbid) the players have something responsibility to take….and some are taking it. BTW TDk tried his guts out today. Just came up against a monster.

Absolutely, Cripps needs to stop trying to be the big bull at a stoppage and work on clearing the stoppage. Take the first option instead of getting swung around like a record for a couple of turns.
Inreckon he needs to fix the resin he can no longer touch his toes which has translated into a dramatic drop in his ground ball get game. Which no one seems to notice or talk about.

That kick where the ball slipped out of Levi's hands and he lunged at it with his boot had me in stitches... I haven't seen that since watching under 9's games...

Ball went straight to Curnow too... Levi is incredibly lucky skilful!!!

Geez it was freezing there tonight.
Must admit to being concerned at 3q time and then when they kept coming at us in the last. Yes they were wasteful, but we've dropped our bundle in games like that so many times in the past.
Toughed it out and got the W.
Loving what I'm seeing from Dow & Kennedy in the last fortnight.
Stocker is an absolute ripper. Not dominating the stats sheet, but geez he has a fair dinkum dip and the opposition know when they have been tackled by him. Wish we had a few more with his mongrel.
Casboult had a shocker, but did a few important things when the game was on the line.
Solid effort, Go Blues!

At one stage we had Cripps, Casboult and H on the bench, think it was in the 4th quarter, maybe 3rd. Betts brings the high ball to ground when he was the one in a two on one.

He played a brilliant game. Pressure, effort, really really appreciating watching him play.
We are extremely fortunate that he is still going around. When he is on, it’s just pure joy

this team reminds me of the 2008 blues before we really got going but it feels a lot more organic. It’s unfortunate that Betts and murph may not be playing next year to be apart of it but the growth of the list is there. SPS & Dow for mine are keepers, they are following Walsh’s lead and it’s very obvious. Stocker is invaluable with his decision making. Plowman & Jones can stick around but I don’t feel they will be apart of the flag tilt when push comes to shove. I hope I’m wrong. Walsh is our Judd and Cripps for us is what Sewell was for hawthorn. The ingredients are there but I feel we haven’t got the tempo and game awareness of when to push the envelope and when to just make it a contest. That is the next step of development for this group. When they figure that out is when we will be a regular finals team. It probably won’t happen this year but this is the group that will get us closer than we ever have for the last 20 years. Enjoy the ride and pay attention to the details. The wins will come. The climb up the ladder is inevitable!!

Makes you wonder what the f*ck was going on pre Barkers exit. He exits, Power takes over Midfield and Kennedy and Dow are thrown straight into the midfield. Both play their best few games for the club and we win two games of those we most probably would have normally dropped ( yet equally horrific spectacles)

Having no emotional crazy supporter like agenda and objectively looking at it all, the last little 'post Barker' bounce prob builds more concerns than it answers, in terms of where do the drivers of change sit.

Kennedy's first game for the club for me was my first 'we are on the right track' moment, 30 odd touches, a young midfield duck to water. Does his ankle and is treated like a fringe rookie there on in. Martin 'greatest potential' going round, Dow number 3 pick, made to look and feel like a kid plucked from the wilderness, yet clearly is not after what we have seen. Yada yada yada. Yet we have seen with the removal of one non-key individual and placement into a role of another, quite transformative outcomes. How this translates coach wise I have no idea and therefore can't really comment. But it is clear to see it is a fine line between getting it right and 10 yrs more and a wasted list.

Tired of typing but things would seem to be close, yet equally as precarious. Change is needed but it needs to be considered. I personally have changed tack on a number of fronts a number of times, but I feel the last few weeks have provided more optimism than I could have thought as long as change is implemented. Sayers and the review will be interesting and knowing his modus operandi professionally I think it will garner far more results based out comes than his predecessor. What he was doing sitting on a board for 10 years doing SFA while running PWC I have no idea. Baffling. Barker removal pre review seems to be a good start. Let's hope it continues. Am getting off track but feel strangely optimistic.

I wonder if what might have been going on was that the match committee was leaning heavily on line coach advice and was (possibly without malice) getting a bum steer re the mids

Great win we let them back in but fought it out and got the Chocolates. We are playing a more "team" orientated defensive structure and our midfielders are actually working hard for the back line so aren't just one way running and it's good to see a bit of joy/emotion on the coaches face.

Well done to a few of the whipping boys on here in Dow and Kennedy they were good. Cripps is a tough m'fer to keep playing and couldn't run properly or kick on that leg but kept grinding what a champ.
Walsh is just an out and out jet who runs all day.
Weitering should be CHB in the AA side just cool and calm under pressure,
JSOS just does not stop competing and actually got reward for his efforts tonight,
Newman was great down back again hope he keeps it up.
Well done Blues!
Now back it up and beat those protected pussy cats next week.
GO BLUES!

Watch loose man in defence May get All Australian alongside commentators pet Andrew’s.

If Weitering had long hair that blew in the wind like Moore he’d be first defender selected. Aha x

Stocker might just be a career back pocket. The quintessential straight-line player. Imagine being an opposition midfielder goalside of the centre square, back to goals. Hesitate for a heartbeat and you just know that the Stockernaut is gonna run straight through you.
Just got back from a family commitment. Has any one loaded vision of Stocker slamming Fyfe into the ground? that was better then Bex.

Really have to do something about our clearances, been really bad last 2 week.

The positive, last 2 weeks we have taken over 100 marks and it is noticeable that we are trying to hit up more shorter targets/control the pill
You can see the change in game plan from earlier in the year.

Instead of playing chaotic, play on at all costs footy, they’re controlling the tempo and thinking through the disposal.

Next step is to cut the 45, because the movement becomes too predictable over a full game. Eg, the 2nd and 3rd quarters tonight.
