Hope we keep playing Henderson back and get Jakshchcsh up forward for the rest of the season. Liked the way he attacked the ball in the air. Still don't like the way he pretty much becomes a spectator after a contest has finished though. Needs to have "second effort" drilled into him so he much that he screams it in his sleep.
I know Derm can be a flog, but he thinks KJ is a forward. Play him there for the next 3 weeks and play Hendo back. See if we can get Hendo to love the footy club again.

It was a no brainer, Robbo had a litany of off field indiscretions that simply couldn't be ignored anymore.

He has no one but himself to blame for not being at Carlton anymore, his presence at the club had become very unhealthy for all concerned.
And you don't believe in giving the guy a chance to redeem himself? He may have ****** up at Carlton but he's clearly learnt from it and now playing much better, more disciplined football, which shows. Sorry, but in this situation I have no time nor respect for the sore loser attitude displayed by Jamison.

I know I'll get howled down by the anti-tankers but genuinely feel we are closer to a flag tonight than we were 3 hours ago.

We need talent. Tonight gives us talent and some bargaining power.

Couldn't give a rats about a loss in a meaningless late season game by a team whose spirit and motivation departed about 6 weeks. Bring on the new coach, some new talent, the off-season and let's start again

Sorry - I know it's not what people want to hear.

yep you are dead right, we need talent and if we keep the tanking strategy going for another 3 years and then wait 5, trade for Judd, we should be able to top out and win a final or two... exciting times ahead...

Looks like the last suburban club with all the loyalty and passion is dying and it is exactly what the AFL wanted years ago.

Even just checking scores and stats during the game it was obvious the Bears were getting far more ball, especially the midfield. It was basically Cripps vs Brisbane midfield with some handy support from Murphy.

Heck Cripps had what, 14 clearances?? A fair chunk of our total.

I'm actually a bit worried how much load we'll put on the fella.

I don't blame the players and i don't blame the coaches. I don't blame the recruiters and i don't blame the board. The board might be a bunch of fat-cats who have no idea how to run a football club but they are just passionate blues fans who got involved with the club they love. It is the apathy of the members and supporters of this club that is the root of the problem.

if your players behave badly you delist them. tick
if your coach doesn't get results you sack him. tick
if your board resides of 15 years as the worst club in the competition. You bitch about how the coach sucks and how jammo didn't shake someone's hand?

The members of a club only get to make one decision that can change the direction of the club. They get to vote and appoint the Board.
If the club sucks for 15 year, why have they not bothered to revolt and change the board?

suck on carlton, suck on

I know I made a thread already about it. But heck me Cripps can play !!
He really should be at a club where his talents are better used. Would Austin and Russell do it?

He may have f*cked up at Carlton but he's clearly learnt from it and now playing much better, more disciplined football, which shows. I have less time and respect for the behaviour of Robbo whacking Jammo and poking his eye in what appeared very similar to an eye-gouge... Yarran didn't deserve a handshake after hitting Chapman, Hodge didn't deserve any respect after hitting Swallow, ditto Lewis with Goldstein ... Likewise, Robbo doesn't desere any respect from Jammo

But they get it. It's sportsmanship on a public stage.

Can we put it to bed? It's really not that big of a deal

There's a pic that looks like Robinson has got his fingers in Jamo's eye
Have seen this photo and Robbo should go for an eye gouge.
Maybe it isn't the best of sportsmanship but people seem to be getting pretty worked up by something not that significant. Jamo's explained himself pretty well so that's enough for mine.
I sure Robbo doesn't need a cuddle after every game so if his feelings are hurt he will get over.

And there's a photo that appeared as though Goodes was grabbing another man's genitals, but upon video replay it was 100% not the case. I'm loathe to make judgements on stills.

Anyway, my opinion is that you should always shake hands after a game (even my 10 year old godson does this...) and I don't take kindly to being accused of media brainwashing or character assassination as a result of this opinion, but it's not the biggest deal in the world.

I Was out last night, so didn't see much of the game.....thank god!
However after seeing the end score and a few highlights, Washtenaw surprised.
We must be tanking, to be up by almost 20 points at quarter time and then to loose by around 10 goals, is suspicious to say the least.
I am sick of this shit that the team is dishing out each week, they have no heart, no drive, no skill and no hope!!!
As can exercise looking back on the season, we have had around 40 quarters where we have kicked 2 goals or less.
That's around 50% off all the game time for the year!! We are so far beginners I hoped we would be that it is almost laughable.
We have gone backwards in the past 3 years, back to the days of Pagan debacle of 2002, our win loss is the same and our percentage is worse!
If it wasn't for Juddys farewell parade next week, I would not be surprised to see less than 15,000 people turn up to see the game next week.

It's a nice attitude to hold, but in my opinion, it's also a little foolish to keep things so black and white ... If anything, it shows a tolerance to unsportsmanlike behaviour during the match ... I'd prefer players not tolerate off the ball rubbish.

Before my time, but should Southby have shaken Balme's hand after the '73 GF ?

I think it's basically a non-issue, which is why I'm astounded by what I've read in this thread ... Plenty of people riding high-horses around these traps.
Do you think you might accept that other people have a different opinion to yours without dragging out the tired old "high horse" line? What does it even mean, that some people in society feel manners and respect for others are still valid?

I wouldn't have a clue, I've never seen that game.

I don't think it's foolish at all. It's good manners and it's symbolic that what happens during the game is over, shake hands and move on.
