Call it what it is.

4 points get us Top4.

WC are weakened but not dead and they have 23 blokes playing for next year. Their career and perhaps mortgage payments.

They will try and if we lollygag around we we can see what happens - refer to last week.

With that said, if we snuff them out early they probably dont have the comeback in them

Oh.. and the the small thing of it the last time you'll see Tom Hawkins and Zach Touhy on KP as Geelong players = and maybe Rhys Stanley and Bewsy too.

So with that in mind, the 23 out there had better get on it and get in it early.

Not to mention that a good tune up before a QF never hurt anyone.

Just get thru this with no injuries, no reports and lots of happy memories of the 1,2,24 and 26 running around at KP.

I still reckon Bewsy can offer something next year but thats not a popular opinion.

Get it done, get it done early and let the players enjoy Reg roosting one to Tomma sitting in the front row of the cheer squad.

Stanley also 150 for Geelong today.
Zuthrie 100 games.

Lets enjoy the day

Just need to break even in the midfield in this one. Yeo, Hunt, Kelly and Reid is a pretty decent midfield, and although Bailey Williams isn't in the top echelon of ruckmen, it's those kind of guys that Stanley usually plays pretty poorly against, and their forward line with Darling, Waterman and Oscar Allen can be pretty good if given the supply (both Waterman and Allen kicked 4 against us when we played them in Adelaide last year), and the Eagles did outscore us after half time in that one.

Having said that though, if we're fair dinkum, we should be winning this easily, and treat the game as a decent warm-up to the finals after whatever the second half against the Aints was.

I don't see this as a ruthless Geelong side so if the big % booster some are looking for eventuates it's more likely to come off the back of W/C throwing the towel in early on, so Geelong leading from start to finish is imperative a total focus at the first bounce not still thinking about Hawks lap of honour while W/C kick the first 3 goals.I'm hoping for that big % win too but the 4 points needs to be the first priority.

Going along to this one. The fact that it should be a non event is cancelled by me having the line at 100, think top two is a huge chance and top 4 going into this season wasn’t on my radar. Get some synergy, form, confidence and no injuries please.

WCE shouldn't kick more than 5 goals if we are even nearly fair dinkum this season.
And honestly we shouldn't kick under 20.
Although I reckon this is an easy kill against a team who really doesn't care, this could tell us everything we need to know about what's to come the next month.
Come out and be ruthless and absolutely destroy them to the tune of 20+ goals? Serious contender.
Wilt and fall over the line with an 8 goal or so win? Likely straight sets, nowhere near it.

He played 58 for the Sainters so we need another 8 games to get any Stanley Sprogs under the rules. One more year or will he call it a day?

Why does Stanley need to play another 8 games for Geelong?

Today will be game #150 in the Hoops, and in total it will be game #208 - unless the F&S rule changes to needing to have played over 155 games, Stanley has already played the minimum requirement of 100 games

110+ and we are a big chance for 2nd spot.

This is a real possibility... Don't think it isn't.

We gotta go for the throat today.

If we in 160 to 50 our % goes from 107.7 to 113.3

Ports % currently is 114.2.

If Port loses to Freo by around 1 goal then they should drop to under 113.3 (depending on total scores... as a high-scoring 1 goal loss will drop more % than a low-scoring 1 goal loss).

Let's put at least 100 on WC and hope for the best.

If Freo get hold of Port then maybe 80ish could be enough... but we must get our % as high as possible in case Freo just win.

P.S. Also assuming the Dogs beat GWS by any margin + we need the Saints beating Carlton to keep Freo's motivation high.

Cats need a solid workout before finals
Both for percentage and to find form
Also need to sort out the forward line
A plan to prevent intercept marking
Fix the centre square stoppages group
Settle the team and player positions
Ensure : Zone works and tackles stick
If they can address the above + more
Then they can manage the older guys

This should be a romp, but it won't be.
Will be too worried about injuries to enjoy

The way this season's going, no idea what we'll get today. Sadly, just don't see the four quarter killer instinct in these Hoops, so Stengle and Cameron will need get on the end of it, kick straight and kick many to see anything resembling a slaughter. Hopefully the lads know the game starts at 1.45 and not 2.10 and then having to play catchup 5 goals down.
