Learning to win ugly is the next step, we have taken it.

Now we need to learn how to finish sides off while we are on top. No good leaving them within striking distance, will come back to bite us again. Killer instinct required.

Played about 30 minutes collectively through three games of quality football, but have yet to lose.

A lot of work to do, Walsh can't come back soon enough (and by that I mean only when he is conditioned and 100%) but you bank these points early, so that you can make a more informed opinion about progress and gameplan in June.

So many mixed emotions.

Dominated. Not in the scoreboard.
Put ourselves in jail. Got ourselves out of it.

Ultimately, I’m happy. We’ve shown immaturity, yet maturity in the same match.

Last year, we’d have lost this game. But we found a way to pull ourselves over the line by sticking to what we know. Again, equally parts happy, confused, pissed off. Such a strange game. Yet happy to get the 4 points.

Should’ve won by 10 goals ultimately, so we deserved to win. Well done blues.
Yep and some of our most mature players, Weitering, Doc , Saad, play with complete immaturity and go into full panic mode, yet young blokes like Holland , Young etc stay composed and show maturity.

I don’t recall ever being so annoyed after we’ve won a game. Feels like the same old shite we’ve been watching for years - except one small thing - we actually WON.

Motlop played his best game imo. Career high possession count for Cripps. Charlie’s two goals were fantastic. Hollands and Acres are doing a great job so far.

Time to give someone other than LOB a chance at the sub role.

Horrible game of footy and we were lucky to get out of gaol thanks to a dubious free kick.

Our game plan is putrid, for a team that has two Coleman medalists we’ve had quite a few goalless quarters under Vossy. We are also two men down playing both Fisher and LoB.

Positive is that we are 2 wins and a draw from 3 close games.

I listened to this in the car driving home for 3 quarters, thus the threadbare autopsy (thanks Gethelred for having my back). Sounds like there is no reason to watch the replay, aside from seeing my fave JSOS going well in the first half.

2 ugly games, one good game. I'm not convinced by us in any way.

This is one I think we need time to digest to really grasp the positives. Dirty old game where not much went right.

But it’s another win. A gritty interstate win. Lost to Gold Coast at a very similar stage last year and gws haven’t proven to be pushovers so far this year.

Newman, Cripps, Charlie, Mots, JSos our best for mine.

Fish and O’Brien will really not enjoy the review.

A massive shout out to Acres who clearly wasn’t right and kept battling and played an important role.

Also Gov. 1 bad kick but did way more right than wrong today and stood up under pressure.

Finally Hollands. I feel like we’ll stop mentioning him at some point because we’ll get used to the fact that he’s an unbelievable competitor and fights well above his weight class. But he continues to impress me more and more.
