I kinda see that, but my thing is I think Logue is a very limited player - athletic as hell and strong in the contest, but would only add to our transition problems. This is somewhat hindsight talking, but especially given we got Hamling in the same trade period and Pearce and Cox ended up being as good as they were, drafting Logue seems really questionable. That's why I look at the Logue pick more than I look at the Chapman one. Unfortunately, the 2016 draft is all time with the lower picks, but has a fairly awful top 10.Yes, I actually agree with this. Picking Chapman ensured Logue left - that's pretty much the cast for 'didn't need'.
The case against is that he's talented, which I also agree. He's a first rounder for a reason. But no one can sit here and say we were short a defender. It's literally the last thing we needed.
As I've said before, the good news is that we have 4 1st rounders to fix it at the end of the year.
40+ goal medium forward who'd make us immediately better? The Henry that left the biggest club in the land after two years to get to where he wanted to play?
I don’t think you can justify picking a player you know without a doubt is leaving at 2 years. That’s seems ridiculous40+ goal medium forward who'd make us immediately better?
Yes, that one.
I think this is the game where they will test him out (in Perth etc and not against someone like Nic Nat to knee him in the guts)Unless Darcy is 100% in no way is Tabs getting dropped. He’s going at 1.5 goals per game and only two blokes have kicked more than him or have a better average (Banners is equal total)
You back in your systems. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't (Adam Cerra for example).I don’t think you can justify picking a player you know without a doubt is leaving at 2 years. That’s seems ridiculous
There is a difference between not drafting guys from over east and drafting someone who told everyone do not bother, I’m playing for Geelong. Every second Geelong poster was telling everyone he’ll be at a Geelong as soon as his first contract was up, it was pretty well known from memoryYou back in your systems. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't (Adam Cerra for example).
If we only drafted WA players we wouldn't have guys like Serong, Young, Darcy, Ryan, Pearce, Cox or Brayshaw.
You see it going on during the games - it's like having on field coachesWho will Freddy replace ? Would like to see Jom sent back to wafl.
I'm sick of hearing his leadership is why he is picked.
Leadership in what ?
Sign him up as a coach then..
Have always admired Willo's skillsNot sure he would be any better than Walters. The pace of the game have probably caught up with both of them.
probably highlights the huge gap between WAFL and AFLHave always admired Willo's skills
I was disappointed they didn't try him at half forward lat year as several of us suggested....but we know how conservative JLo is
He looks like he is enjoying his footy now...even with his new love handles..

Please bring him in for HughesI was at Peel game today and can tell you Chappy is ready
Hughes is serviceable so long as he takes the first option when he gets the ball. I'm not sure who told him that he can try and fend off every time he gets tackled. Please bring him in for Hughes
Not sure how much more I can take
He’s gone back to old Hughes
2023 Hughes was an anomaly
It’s like watching him move through honeyHughes is serviceable so long as he takes the first option when he gets the ball. I'm not sure who told him that he can try and fend off every time he gets tackled.
Yeh. He was actually okay in the first half and seemed to be doing that. I may need rewatch but I think the two htb in space of few minutes maybe is all people focus on. Thought one was a mark that people seem to think was dropped, but was punched out of his hands but he held it long enough I thoughtHughes is serviceable so long as he takes the first option when he gets the ball. I'm not sure who told him that he can try and fend off every time he gets tackled.
NahThis might have been talked about before. Walker forward
I know walker is our best small defender and can give us some run and carry .
If we could replace him without affecting the back 6 to much, why not try it.
He lighting fast, has a great sidestep and seems to read the play well.
As long as it doesn't affect Rayn and Clark why not?
Wow, with some of the crap going around this thread you’d think we were Owen 5 and had just been pumped by 60+ points for the third time this season.
We are literally a bee’s away from being 5-0. Match committee have been doing a lot right.
I cant believe I am saying this....Hughes’s dropped marks and holding the ball kills us every …ken time.
Unfortunately due to Cox and O Mac missing he has to play until Chapman is ready
Duman probably never should've been cut. He'd been a semi-promising in and out of the side from 2018 to 2020. One bad season and we see delist him. Others were given so many more opportunities.I cant believe I am saying this....
We got rid of Logue, he would be playing this week.
Hell, Tobe Watson and Taylin duman who are both 190 cm tall defenders and both cut at the end of 2021, would probably get a game this week in our back line.
It's not that he was bad, he was just excess to needs. We had Cox, Pearce, Hamling, Logue all playing that same position. Duman just got unlucky. Similar with Tobe Watson but I think Duman was the better player.Duman probably never should've been cut. He'd been a semi-promising in and out of the side from 2018 to 2020. One bad season and we see delist him. Others were given so many more opportunities.
It'd be interesting to do a count of how many contests Hughes is sat back on his haunches 3 metres away, watching an opposition forward take a mark, rather than jumping in to spoil, when he was fully in a position to do so. I'd say it would be way way waaay too many.Hughes is serviceable so long as he takes the first option when he gets the ball. I'm not sure who told him that he can try and fend off every time he gets tackled.
