Words like 'woke' & 'virtue signalling' get tossed around so dismissively & easily.

Why can't it just be a sincere, one-week show of respect for what looooong came before us all?

I say sure.
WE can have the week of respect but keep the virtue signalling and woke bits. Originally I had consigned these words to the 'wellness', 'mindfulness', 'covid normal' buzzword collection, but now I have grown rather fond of them. I hope they establish more online presence.

I don't mind virtue signalling. I think it applies across the political spectrum, from the SJWs like me to the weirdo patriots who thank anyone who's ever been in a uniform for their service to the nation.

I signal my virtue, which is indeed superior to most.

People who use 'woke' are, I think, legitimately braindead. Pull the plug and pop them in a hole.

People who peddle 'wellness' should be popped in a hole and blanketed with a generous layering of dirt. Alive.

You are behind the times. The new term is "nourishment". I heard Vossy use it.

We all have have our quirks and idiosyncrasies. I like the way some words roll off the tongue or where they might lead. I look after a dog whose owner buys him 'Wellness' bowls, which I feel like binning rather than feeding to the dog.

I don’t know what any of these terms mean mate. Think I’ll just stay on my porch and let it all pass me by.

Be careful what you wish for.

The “Welcome to Country” has gone from a mark of respect. To a now demand and an obligation for respect. Aunty Joy is showing her true nature and that of the movement. With some of her antics of late.

Gill the Dill and the hierarchy copped a serve. And, I heard she sent Obama an invoice when they bypassed her during his last visit.

So in fact, respect does have a monetary value……

Inches and miles people……

Statistics show that 67% of people who don't know these terms are 45% more likely to be happier than those who do.

Porch is not a bad place to ride out the storm.

As Stephen Wright was fond of saying “7% of all statistics are made up on the spot” but I think the above would be pretty much spot on.

I don't care too much for Christmas. Scrap it. Consumerist nonsense.

However, I became concerned when you mentioned my assists. Didn't know the ATO was even aware of them, quite a worry that they'll now be taxed. Bloodsuckers.

But it's the 'backdoor tragedy' we should all brace for. I admit that I'm not sure what you mean, but it has to hurt.

POLITICAL CORRECTNESS IS STILL GOING MAD.
Have you seen a doctor about your assists? You may be able to get them removed.

I was quite attached them until I discovered they might attract the attention of the ATO. Now they're a liability. Might take your advice.

The AFL site shows where this is going. Four sides have peculiar names in their discussion of this week's games. It hasn't taken long to cease being a "special" thing for one round and make a push for the mainstream. No doubt I will get used to who they are talking about eventually, but to me it is just another sad surrender of culture to activists.
Why the people trying to twist our lives into an unwanted shape can't put their energies into something that matters, like fighting climate change, I don't know. I pine for the days when football was just football.

But I don’t like being a follower.
Let the others do that.
Yeah - You should never do anything unless you do it first, no matter how much sense it might make.

And then you should keep a big list of all the stuff that you're not allowed to do because somebody else did it first.

And that's how you know you're a true free thinker - When everything you do is dictated by not doing stuff that other people did first.

Back in 2000 a bloke I knew told me that after Cathy Freeman lit the flame at the Sydney Games reconciliation was done. It was a strange comment at the time and hasn't aged well.

I am really not sure you have any understanding of Aboriginal culture

I am really not sure you have any understanding of Aboriginal culture

There are over 200 different cultures existing and flourishing in Australia. All contributing to the wonderful tapestry that is this great nation.

Why do I need to have a greater understanding of one over another.

But maybe that is the problem. Needing to be seen as special. When we should all be seen as one. And not to be seen in any specific light ahead of another.

After all, don’t we all want to be Australians?
