Interesting, where did you get these figures from, link?
Here's the raw numbers published.... should the numbers add up? maybe, I don't know....

Why be a troll? We are just protecting our AFL and AFLW sides in case the impact of the pandemic becomes worse then forecast.

Sad but smart management

Bragging about 100k membership and how fantastic everything is a day after announcing they're pulling out of the VFLW. Yet I'm trolling?

Yes, you are trolling this thread which leads to shit fights. If you are upset with the club, email them, just don't bait posters.

If the content in this thread offends you, just move on.

Sadly it’s too early to judge what clubs are doing. There will be a lot of clubs chopping many jobs and programs

Richmond wasn’t the first and won’t be the last

Yes we will have to wait and see on that. I don't think they've read the room very well having these announcements back to back.

You really are sensitive to anything negative towards Richmond ain't you?

This is not a team board, not everyone will drink the Punt Rd Kool Aid. Your going to have to deal with a difference of opinion on how events play out.

Keep sooking it up butter cup. :$ A total unnecessary bit of bait you threw out for me to merely suck it off the hook. 100,000 members are a pretty good effort this year, considering there was only (rd 1) to attend for the vast majority of our members. How many have the Dogs got?

And...LOL... who honestly gives 2 shits about vflw when we have an aflw side. That in itself is as boring as batshit 🤦‍♂️

Love your tears though. No wonder we get so many members with the salt being consistently served up.

I really don't understand why people care/gloat about membership numbers -

After 37 years in the wilderness and being reminded of how much we suck, I think it’s OK to finally acknowledge and celebrate our clubs achievements.

Look at this as an inspiration to other clubs’ following in our footsteps. If your club achieves this sort of success would you just say “Meh”?

Strange comment coming from a Freo supporter.
Measure of what? We’re out of debt and we’re inclusive, a great balance when it comes to membership and revenue.

Your club should take a leaf.
Serious question... do you wonder how you ever were on the verge of bankruptcy in the late 80's in the first place?
And where the money came from over the following decade to reestablish on a firm footing?

I agree.

If we were serious about women's football we would've been doing everything in our power to keep that team running. It's a big step back for our AFLW program who are already coming from a very low base.

I didn't get a minute of sleep last night because of all the celebrations in the streets and tooting of car horns here in Sydney
that went on all night after the news came through that Richmond had reached 100,000 members and West Coast has almost
reached that number. My father used to talk about the celebrations when WW2 ended. I wish he was still here and could have
witnessed the unbridled joy and excitement that engulfed Sydney last night.

Great work by the Tigers, the Eagles are right on their heels now.

We have more than 99,000 reasons to say THANK YOU!

Owing to the loyalty and dedication of the best fans in the AFL, West Coast has hit a record membership tally of 99,509.

It is a phenomenal effort during an unprecedented time of uncertainty, and the Eagles wish to thank each and every member for your passionate support.

With five matches remaining in the home and away season, West Coast is aiming to have 100,000 members of the blue and gold army marching with the team towards a huge climax to the 2020 season.

“To all our members, thank you so much for your support over the years and ongoing,” captain Luke Shuey told westcoasteagles.com.au.

“We’ve reached 99,000 members – we’d love to get to the 100 (thousand) mark – but it’s an unbelievable effort.

“We absolutely love you guys and love playing in front of you.

“We know 2020 has been a tough year for you all but it’s been nice to get back here and play a little bit of footy in front of you and looking forward to the journey ahead."
Decent effort WC. Well done.

It’s generally the same supporters that gloat of their footy intellect and look down on others because the team they support has been successful in the past.
The tigers are a well run organisation.

Two clubs at 100k members, which is a great achievement for the game. Congrats to the Eagles on getting to that number. But also congrats to a number of other clubs that have set membership records this year, and to the members of all clubs who have stuck by their team in this weirdest of seasons.
This, it’s just fantastic to see how devoted AFL supporters are even in the worst of times. Whether it‘s full membership or only the smallest membership we have to remember how many have lost their jobs/livelihoods and have contributed whatever they can afford to support and help their club.
