Interesting that they've dropped a ruckman. Wonder if Balta will play forward. They could stretch us
I am not so worried about being stretched by the Richmond tall forwards, Jack is not the threat he was and Lynch might be a bit underdone and reckon Balta is a much better back.

What I have always been concerned (and posted weeks ago) is Carlton potential three talls, now that they have picked Pittonet this week against the Crows, this is likely the three talls De Koning, McKay, and Curnow (who just seems to play much taller than he is against) that we will face next week at the GABBA.

Starce will rough him up and he'll go into his shell and probably give away stupid freed. Should get robbo or Berry to do the same to pickett

Worked in our final win a couple of years back
Dew probably did Richmond a favor by questioning Starcevich's tactics as you can already see that the umps will be watching him closely for anything he does on Bolton.

Hopefully they are also watching Grimes on Charlie as Grimes always holds Charlie and gets away with it

Good for you mate. Others have a different opinion be it unique or not. Nobody is right or wrong in this situation unless the situation becomes real. It did with Fort recently and it worked......how unique. Go Fagan. Go Lions.
Is this like the decision not to play Mathieson against Essendon when it was plain as day that his selection would have made the difference or why we played Tunstall against Melbourne (not that his selection changed the result - i like your views but i cant agree that the club never does any wrong like we all do- just that the club doesnt which is generally your stand point.

I'm backing our guy but true to form , you are backing the other guy.

Are you even a supporter of the Lions or are you just a cynical troll?
Good for you, but I'd rather have a conversation with people who can look at our team objectively and not get threatened when people have different thoughts to your own.

The old "good for you" rebuttal.

Followed up by you appointing yourself the sole arbiter of objectivity .

On your definition of objectivity, you can look forward to having conversations with no-one but yourself

You don't think Bolton is a superstar? Starce is a damn good player, he can play against opponent way taller but not against guys like Bolton.
Absolutely mind boggling this guy thinks Bolton is a superstar but thinks Daniher is shit.

If Lester comes back in, we better bring back Bastinac to the club and put in our midfield, come Sunday :p

At least BRAB would agree on me with this selection ;)
Yeah but can we get Hammelman in as well?

Everyone makes mistakes....everyone. I make them every day....Maybe not the same mistakes but they are still mistakes. The club makes mistakes & that includes the coaching group as well. I guess the difference is that .... some of the mistakes you say that the club makes I disagree with but thats (put simply) an opinion. For you to have a different opinion to mine is perfectly fine and doesn't necessarily mean that either of us is right or wrong....its just an opinion.

Hugh said during the week that we know they will try and beat us with leg speed.

Now looking at the team on paper we certainly haven’t attempted to try and match them in that area, but rather it appears that we are going in to win the contest and hope that stops them from getting to the outside. Ball in our hands is better than the oppo etc etc.

This is all good in theory and I can understand the reasoning, but if we get it wrong and they do get on top through the middle, it could get pretty embarrassing the other way watching us try and keep up with these guys.

Interesting game ahead. Let’s see.

Think Matho will be centre of attention Sunday. They wouldn't have forgotten his beast mode to Liam Baker :tearsofjoy:
That little cameo by Matherson was cringeworthy & was spoken about in negative terms in the review.
Each to their own but I very much dislike this "beast mode" "baromenter" garbage. Its not even laughable.....its embarrasing.
All Rhys needs to concentrate on is keeping his spot in the 22 which is a week to week proposition right now. Showboating for the crowd should not be part of his game tomorrow 100%.

I am with you there, and will say I've been thoroughly impressed by his professionalism since he rejoined the team. Hell, even his Shotgun after goal #2 was subtle and he got back on with it.

He's too big, too heavy, not agile enough, not quick enough. Bolton has got to be the toughest match up in the league. Can take a mark, can kick a mile, can burst packs, can do anything.
It's almost like you haven't seen Starc play. He's super agile for his size and deceptively quick. He's played on the dangerous zippy forwards all year and hasn't been beaten. He'd almost be the best matchup for him in the competition right now.

Bolton has kicked 3 goals in 5 games against us. Not saying it’s impossible for him to turn it on tomorrow but we’ve handled him pretty well
My biggest concern is their run out of their defensive half.

Pretty sure Fagan started the “barometer” talk in an interview, when asked about Mathieson.

Think Toby Greene kicked a few on him a few weeks ago, but agree he is quick and has been good all year and it will be a good match up.

Pretty sure he didnt. "The Barometer" was introduced a couple of years ago and Fagan didnt start it
I was pretty sure it was Matho himself who started that one, in a post match interview after that game against Richmond with the Liam Baker stuff.

Forgot about Toby. Very different type of player to Bolton though. Toby can use his body well whereas Bolton relies more on athleticism.
