Bolton has been dangerous this year but Starcevich is the perfect matchup for him. I'm tipping Starc to give Bolton a bath.

Bolton spends a fair bit of his time just outside the midfield contest or on a wing, as well as forward, it will be interesting if that is the match up to see if Starc goes up the ground with him.

For me, Bolton is the dangerman and difference in this game should he get away too many times. So dangerous and versatile.

He really has stepped up in that forward/mid role from Dusty and has the same dangerous attributes.

While they have dropped away (especially in the midfield), the Tigers do have some quality players that can hurt teams. Lynch back gives Jack a chop out and both can punish teams if you give them space. Hope Adams is fit to pick up one of them. Although Darcy can go with Jack I think.

Im a big fan of Vlaustin. He is vital in how he chops off play. We need to be careful in going high and long inside 50. That or one of the forwards will need to put some work into him

I expect he will get handed over to Starc whenever he's playing forward. Be interesting to see what we do to stop his influence in the middle.

Would not be against Dev seeking a trade at the end of the year due to the coach's fascination with Lyons.

No surprise though I'm not sure about Robbo on the MCG the way he's been going.

Could be a defining match not only for us but for a couple of players if we get burnt on this ground.

I'm optimistic that we can win. They'll throw everything at us and try to run us around but I'm not convinced they're good enough any more to keep it up for the majority of the game provided we play well and keep at it.

Viewing Fort as a perfectly normal choice of sub is indeed unique within the current bounds of what usually done, it’s not wrong though.

I also love Fagan, so yes - go Fagan.

It would be nice to be able to disagree with 1 tactical move by the coaches, have a little robust back and forth, without dropping your lollies after 1 reply and getting snarky - is it perhaps you who is unable to except anyone having a different opinion to your own?

Not getting snarky at all. Just coming back with a differing opinion than your own. Dont think Fagan's coaching is odd as you say. Additionally you insinuating Fagan puts 'culture first' instead of 'win at all costs' was a little snarky in itself and thought it best to give you a different opinion. (not that I dont respect you having a different one)

Robertson and Prior are very very very unlucky. Fagan once again sticks with his coaches pets. Prior and Robertson would be of much greater value than Answerth and Robinson. Still carrying McStay who is back to his horrid 2020 form and as much as we all love him, Cam Rayner need never worry about his spot in the team because he is going to be selected regardless of performance. Also, Lyons appears to be a lock every week, despite the fact that he is having a really poor run of form.

Lost this in team selection I'm afraid because the coaching staff are too fixed in their ways.

We will get destroyed on the wide berths of MCG with Matho, Lyons and Robbo chasing and hack kicking.

Fagan completely lacks imagination in team selection when it comes to rewarding great form in the reserves, but not when it comes to imagining that if he keeps selecting out of form players in the seniors, they will come good.

Adams, McStay, Answerth and Robinson should not be in the team this week.

He's not in for his silky skills, he's there for his energy, ferocity at the contest and willingness to put his body on the line. And dragging his teammates to the same level. Which are our current problems.
