Rnd 3 Vs Dons

In: Kreuzer, Wiggins

Out: Edwards, Russell

Kreuzer to make his highly anticipated debut, Wiggins to give us some much needed grunt, experience, and an interesting option up forward.

Russell unlucky to be dropped as he didn't play that badly. He was brought into the team to play a role which we don't have the need for vs the Dons. Edwards disappeared after a promising start and should go back to the Ants to get some confidence and form. He's shown enough to suggest he has a good future.

We actually match up on Essendon very well, and I expect it to be a good game. We have a big chance of winning, but we have to be on our game, and any mistakes could cost us dearly especially with Jetta, Lovett and Davey zooming around.

Waite to play up forward. If Lucas was in, Waitey would take him, but now there is no real match up for Waite down there. He can provide us with another option across half forward which we needed so badly vs the Saints.

Setanta to line up on Lloyd. Bannister to run with McPhee all game.

Lets see - Richmond handed us our arse on a plate.....at the same time Essendon were handing North there arse on a plate......

North just Handed Richmond their arse - and Essendon got beaten by the reigning premiers........

Meanwhile we are looking to include armfield, or maybe drop banno or russel and BANG we are better going to beat the bombers.

Unless someone sits the boys down for a chat, a heart to heart if you will, and tell them they are weaker than piss and everyone is laughing at them and they no one to blame except their gutless selves - then we will lose.

If however some one takes stock of the situation and calls for a heart felt, ball busting, gut wrenching effort from the bottom of their soul......then we are a chance.

The only thing going for us judging by the last dozen games or so is that we are playing Essendon - we are their bogey team - thats it.

The guy you need to fire and the guy im afraid will explode this week is Fevola. Always seems to save his best game of the year for Essendon and is too quick for Fletch and Mal. He was is his 'lazy' mood last week but against Essendon, you never know.
Gee i'm looking forward to this one, could go either way

I take heart from the fact that I don't think we can possibly see Scotland and Stevens have poor nights two weeks in a row.
One of these performing to their usual standard would have brought us 3 goals closer to Saints.

The Dons will run hard from HBF so its critical that we use the ball better going forward. If we butcher it again we might see a similar game, though closer as the Dons don't have the finishing power of the Saints.

Ins- Jamo
Out- Russell

Waite to play centre half forward
Between Jamo Sentanta and Thornton we should cover Loyd McPhee and their ruckman that drops down there.

Fev has Fletchers measure and should have a good day.
Waite will be to good for Ryder and Cloke or Hampson just need to make a contest against Mal.

They will be coming off a shorter break than us and our midfield should dominate their inexperienced one.

This one will be super close i reckon.
I'd love to give them a hiding by 10 goals
but based on past encounters something dramatic
usually plays out. I can see Fev, Lloyd or even betts
or Jetta sealing this game in the dying minutes.
Another heart attack style finish is my prediction.
Hopefully the blues by 4 points.

Just once i'd love the Blues to give out right royal thrashing.
Do so much for the club, confidence and supporters.

Crucial game.

must win.

In: Armfield, Jamison, Kruezer
Out: Banno, Setanta, Russell

Despite Essendon prob playing McPhee at CHF I'd still leave Waite there for his rebound. It'll also be better for him to just settle in a position.

I'd also like to see Cloke spend more time at CHF and hammer more time 1st ruck. I'd like to see it being something like Hammer 60%, Cloke 20%, Kreuzer 20%.

B: Armfield Jamison Thornton
HB: Scotland Waite Bower
C: Gibbs Hadley Simpson
HF: Stevens Cloke Houlihan
F: Betts Fevola Fisher
OB: Hampson Judd Murphy
I/C: Carrazzo Kreuzer Pfeiffer Edwards[/quote]

Pretty spot on mm3. Only change I would have to your team is Edwards out for Bentick. Against a team like Essendon, a clearance specialist is more of a priority than an out of form, low on confidence medium forward. I've never been a big fan of Bentick but by the sounds of it he is getting leather poisining in the VFL and desrves his chance here.

richo killed him and lloyd is better
yeh but keep in mind, that 1; richo kicked a couple from soft frees, and 2; it was richos body that killed jamo, not richo's skill. Isn't lloyd like 10 kilos less than richo?

BTW, last time we played Essendon, jamo did a good job on lloydy didn't he? Persist with jamo boys, he will be a permanent fixture at full back sooner than you know it. Jamo is the perfect match up for lloyd

Ratten said in his press conference that Kreuzer would be included.

Good side expect i'd def leave sentanta there and give edwards a run in the 2's and replace carrazzo with bentick, i don't care that carrazzo won the b&f last year, he is simply making to many kicking errors for a guy that trains 4+ times a week and can't improve his kicking shouldn't be in the side, it's time these players are punished for making simple skill errors and arn't brought back into the side until they are corrected, we now have enough young kids with better skills to be brought in. Although not sure we should be sending carrazzo back to the bullants so teague can show him how to kick properly lol!!!

Look I stayed up way too late, I'm sitting here giving my employer jack sh1t, will barely move to go and get a coffee soon, so I'm not reaching for a PB today.

Even so, that just doesn't ring right somehow...

FWIW, Armfield should be a definite inclusion because we lack pace. Their small forwards will kill us with their run. Forget about where he's at with his development, he's wat? 21-22?

His kicking may be a bit iffy, but isn't everyone's at the minute? We desperately need his run, chase and tackle ability, otherwise I think it will by very ugly indeed.

Keep in mind, this new Essendon game plan of run and carry will exploit not only our slow mids, but our slow, high possession style game plan.

Armfield's inclusion on Saturday night couldve kept the rat Milne very quiet, if not scoreless imo. He showed enough in the ants, to push for selection.

how so sosos? jamo is a good, budding stay at home defender, and is a good match up for those forwards who play out of the goal-square. OK, maybe he's not the 'perfect' match up, but the only other player i would put on him would be Setanta, and Setanta looks a little underdone.

lol nothing wrong with your logic mate.....just the lloydy on lloyd bit.:thumbsu:

LMFAO:D:D:D made me laugh out loud for 10 mins. Not that i dont agree, in fact it puts my own thoughts into words.

You'd reckon Sticks would be the man for the job. Down in the rooms before the game, frothing at the mouth, remind them how much we hate the scum and that nothing less than total sacrifice is acceptable!

I'm quite surprised to see some of the selections here having Setanta out of the side.

Gehrig kicked 4........normally kicks 6 on us and the first was a blatant push in the back.

Banno has been in our top 3 for the first two weeks, beating Deledio and keeping DalSanto quiet.
Won't be dropped, and one of few guys in our midfield than can run for four quarters.

Bentick? Another underdone mid into the rotation is asking for trouble.

Kreuzer in, for Edwards. Disappeared after a promising start.

Play Kreuzer and Hampson most of the game - one seocnd ruck, the other resting in the F50. Hampson especially should start int he goal square and lead up. Too quick and tall for ANY backmen.

If we lose this week its going to be a VERY long year.

I second the person that said finally someone has posted something with sense. Good post. Stop bagging Setanta and Bannister. And people who think Bentick will actually get picked are dreaming...
