Our list is wrong because we play midfielders as lock down defenders? Yep OK then. The kid had brownlow votes in his first and second season then got thrown into a dumb **** position that didn't suit him and may just be fed up with the club. I would be.

Can only assume that SPS is going to be moving out of the backline now, and his positioning/running patterns last week are out of step with what the coaches want - if so, a 1-3 week block in the VFL, based on how quickly he can adjust, is probably not a bad thing.

Owies ahead of Honey isn't surprising, I'd have Matt slightly ahead when you consider his body of work over the last 12 months.

If Dow doesn't fire I'll be livid. Would indicate our selectors have gone too early with him (again). Prove me wrong, Paddy, because I still think you need 4-6 weeks of great VFL footy before you should be considered at all.

Agree on Dow he needs much more time in the VFL if only to get his fitness level higher before re-entry to the seniors .
Will also be livid if Dow stinks it up and takes mid time from Cuningham who i thought was damaging for us through the middle last week .

It is but that’s all that’s been presented, which has been very ordinary from expectations, and a lot looks to be based on a shortfall of fitness & conditioning. That’s disappointing.

And hopefully going back listening to a different voice playing his preferred role will bring the best out in him.. but he does seem to have more rundown tackles than most of our defenders (side) as did setterfield at one point and now fogarty dropping off in that area also the past couple weeks- for some reason players don't keep that desperation in our side and become conditional , so let's hope the demotion does him good ...

Tackling is our cryptonite, we are top 8 in most statistical areas the one area we have gone backwards, and that’s hard to do considering we weren’t that good to start with, is tackles where we are 14th and inside 50 tackles 16th, fixing this weakness will go a long way to getting us playing better footy. Setters by the way is leading the VFL in this area which is another reason he should have been in before Dow.

Williams to come back in as a HBF next week where he is a proven footballer to partner well with Doc and Saad.

McKay lays more F50 tackles per game than Betts.

It’s honestly astonishing to me that people think he’s doing anything to justify a game right now.

Selection is a weekly exercise in malpractice at this club in 2021.

Betts is totataly and completely cooked will have 1in5 acceptable not great games.
Just my opinion he knows he can’t do what is expected and doesn’t want to be out there any more.
We are not making finals blood the youngsters
SPS is better player by all metrics than Betts do the swap

Decent if he gets a clean break at the centre bounce, but he's executing a 30m kick directly in front of him. He's working on it, but in that respect he's not better than anyone he's replaced.

I like Walsh back 50/50 to wing too for now.

Wveryone needs to get math into their heads. There is 300 percent of game time available for the centre square mids. Cripps takes 80-85. Unless people are actually wanting Ed dropped (ffs) he gets 80-85. It doesn’t leave heaps for Walsh, Cunners and Dow. If Walsh plays 40 wing and 40 mid it leaves 80 max for the others. That doesn’t leave heaps yet for Dow and Cunners. Dow will get more this week and Cunners will go back to more half forwsrd and a bit mid. Dow may only get 70 percent (max) game time. Shit happens. He needs to get 17 possesions and be clean. And chase. That would be a great outcome.

SPS only kicks to leads, he never goes over the top to one v ones. I assume this is the reason they’ve dropped him. He’s not playing to game style which I agree with. He would suit freo with the way he moves the ball. We should consider trading him for Cerra.

I am happy that Murphy has been omitted.
His form as a senior player within the club hasn’t warranted selection for a long time now.
Hopefully this post isn’t censored because I have a minority opinion

It should be deleted for being non-factual but then I guess too many others would need deleting as well.

Edit to add, I see I've had someone disagree already which is fine but tell me what you disagree with? The first sentence declaring Murphy omitted is non-factual.

But he played a whole 3/4 of bruise free footy where he was handed the footy on a plate by Mirkov, baffling work at the selection table.
