Apart from the obvious, having Robbie involved in recruiting will ensure we don't get sucked into the 'he went to a good school' thing. He's not from that background. He had a hand in getting Butters, who is not from that background.

Very happy with this appointment, I think Crippa has done a pretty stand up job and it'd be great for Robbie to be under his tutelage.
Also great having the champion still involved with the club.
Hopefully he can nab us a few more Butteresses.

Cripps is based there, but AFL List Management and Recruiting Teams are based throughout the country. Zoom / Teams has completely changed the landscape, making it easier in the last few years as well.
My guess is he’ll more than likely be based in SA - and look after the WA / SA / NT scouting @ SANFL and College Level, with the odd trip to other states to for combines / rep footy / college

Imagine being the poor f***er in the Eastern Football Netball League lining up in the back pocket and looking up to see Robbie Gray sidling up next to you.

You would check the Eastern FNL equivalent of PlayHQ on the Friday and see the proposed line up for the following day's game vs. Doncaster (knowing you're named in the back pocket), all of a sudden your hamstring awareness would rear it's head and a quick text to the coach ensues, making him well aware that you're seeing the physio, it's precautionary and you'll be right for next week.
Most amateur players would be lining up to play on him. It would be a honour.
I think most Eastern football league players would be earning more than the magpies top up players. I dont think Doncaster score many goals so Robbie might get cold in the forward line.
