Need official I.D for the Allen Bros?
BAllen and Allen? BOallen and Oallen?
Given their surnames are spelled differently, Allen and Allan should work nicely

Looking at the depth chart, Harry Edwards has never given us a full season while Jamieson has given less than Harry.

it is a fair chance that Shanahan could be given an early shot this year in defence.

Pending other train ons that may yet be trialled, this shows that Brock fills more of a need than Burgiel

Jobe said in his presser that he plays his best footy down back and is happy to play anywhere.

I think he said he see's himself as a forward and has played most of his footy there, but that the best he has played was probably a stint he did playing back. Did say he's happy to play anywhere. He's also played as a mid so how about we get him to lose some weight and stick him on a defensive wing until Darling and Kennedy Oscar and Waterman retire. What could go wrong.

I say if Baz Williams can't win the ruck contests we train Jobe up as a mid/ruck Shaun Grigg style.

We've got to start thinking outside of the box.

I feel like that's thinking in the box. We did the same with Oscar to get games in him as a kid and it cooked his body.

Maric training in defense as is Barnett for that reason.

We also have several tall half backs. Hough, Ginbey and Bo.

Good call as it is easy to forget Maric is 196cm. My expectation was the 3rd tall role to utilise his kicking into the corridor and inside 50

it will be interesting to see Barnett as a KPD. Something about his contested mindset (or lack there of in the ruck) has to snap and quite often the switch to a more accountable role helps.

What I am hoping for, and it may happen simply through lack of mature / better options, is we play smaller both back and forward.

Can see 3 x tall's forward however Waterman at 192cm isn't a lumbering tall.

But down back I'm hoping for two tall defenders and then two 190cm medium defenders who can play tall/small and then two smaller, quick, agile rebounding defenders. That is a balanced backline with run and carry rebound options.

Maric can play as the tall utility who can play in all three zones if we lose a tall during a game. Perfect bench utility option Maric. He means we can play one less tall.

He was shocking when he tried that. Don't think he even registered a hit out.

I don't recall him ever playing an actual game there? I thought we briefly flirted with it 2-3 preseasons ago but he got injured and by the time he was back Williams had been put in there and we never looked back. Anyway just a random idea, I'm a Baz Williams #1 ruck for lyfe supporter.

I agree Edwards to ruck is a solid proposition.

Gives Bazzo, Barnett, Jamo and Jobe a chance to develop in KPD roles.

Was just an idea born out of an Oscar to fullback fantasy. I insist Harry is the second tallest on our list behind Flynn, and he did play his junior football and a midfielder and is a massive unit who should be able to wrestle with the bigger rucks. No idea if he can jump or tap, just think it's an option if it pans out he doesn't have the speed to play on the quicker full forwards.

I can't remember when it was exactly but he played there as a secondary ruck some time during the Naitanui injury years. He had no impact and I think they started rotating others through like Gov and Darling.
