Howe nullifies Stewart
Adams hurt his foot but played thru it.
Sure they had a few go down. Unfortunate. It happens.
Our system beat their system. Even with Adams going down in QF 2022 I can’t recall many of us saying it cost us the game.
Despite Adams going down, we had our chances and couldn’t take them. That’s football.
Anyone watching that game that can’t see the 2023 Cats have a long way to go to be the 2022 Cats has blinkers on.
Half way thru the 3rd I was saying my mate “Jesus we’ve had 20 scoring shots already and we’ve played pretty ordinary. Even if we lose this game - we correct our errors over the next 6-8 weeks and we gonna be very hard to beat.”
It kinda reminded me of Stk 2010 when we kicked 4.19 or something. Sure we didn’t execute - but the foundations for what were to come were well in place.

I want to give some credit to Johnny F*cking Noble. I thought he was excellent.
You just have to accept the 1 or 2 complete blunders he'll deliver each game. He more than makes up for it the majority of the time.

It’s against bigfooty rules to ever pay credit to Johnny F*cking Noble.
Oh he knows how to frame his words and make them appear dispassionate and objective but just as he did last year there is zero doubt he was having another little dig at our game plan.It was more that the Pies will give you a look when you go forward and then spoke of challenges they had during the game. Neither was untrue and didn’t sound like he was making excuses. I can’t stand the Scott whiners and believe me, I wanted to take Chris’ comments like you did.
Just watched the replay.
Full credit too Reef in coming off the bench and having such an enormous impact in a quarter and a half. 2 goals 1 and a couple of assists through great crumbing, really happy for the bloke.
Our forward line looked potent last night, be interesting to see how we squeeze Ginnivan back in the side after his 2 game suspension.
What was Henry’s free paid for? And the subsequent 50m penalty?

Did we play in our 2022 guernsey last night? Isn't Fly Emirates (new design) meant to be where KFC was last night?

I'll be honest at Half Time I didn't think we were going to win this one at all, but I am glad we had a great second half and got over the line.
Umps should of had Cats Jumpers on last night
Luckily this year were good enough to beat an opposition with 26 players.Umps should of had Cats Jumpers on last night
Correction. 27 players.Luckily this year were good enough to beat an opposition with 26 players.
No it's not. I did some digging and it's hard to tell but I think that's correct. Shorts were new. Still haven't seen our away guernsey yet and Nike continues to delay products. We have some great designs but the Puma range is superior. As much as I don't like Carlton, their kit and designs Puma produce are probably the best in the AFL.Away game, home jumper with sponsors swapped. Unless the new Emirates logo is on the back,.
Forgot all about Ginni to come back in. Good luck oppositionGin will be straight back in, always a spot for a goal kicker
I appreciate that you respectfully come in peace.Hey guys! Very solid win for Collingwood yesterday and it definitely looks to be a benchmark for what's going to be required this year for whoever goes on to take the cup. A few take-aways for me:
The game is in a much better place now with the movement and slick dynamic run games. Collingwood seem to be leading this charge. The cats are up there too. It's much better footy to watch than the garbage Richmond won Premierships with not too long ago.
The pies seem to have the most X-factor players of any team in the comp. De Goey, Elliot, Pendlebury, Daicos brothers (these guys are a nightmare for opposition teams) etc.
For a long time I've felt like Geelong have lead the charge in the 'never say die' department, but the Pies are now in the same category when it comes to self-belief and endeavour. You get the feeling it'll bode well for finals.
And yes, on the injury front, our team had almost a third either injured or hobbling on one leg. It's possible to be gracious in defeat whilst also being realistic about the implications of a game like that. The loss wont hurt us, and I'm looking forward to actually being able to play a full match against you guys with a full lineup of unencumbered players later this season. Hopefully Howe has a quick recovery.
Enjoy the win!
