Last nights game against Port has cost Jack Riewoldt $3000. That will teach him to keep his hands to himself LOL :) :) :)
Dustin Martin $1750 .. :) :) :)
Marlion Pickett $1750 .. :)

Three Richmond players got fined for dirty play ... who would have thought LOL

2nd bump charge for M Pickett, he's clearly not learning, yet being protected by the VFL choir boys

Just finished watching the replay again and boy did Butters help us seal that win earl6 in the final quarter. He was instrumental in the first 2 goals!
Loved his attack on the ball for the first goal to set up an open robbie gray.

Watching the replay now. So how much of a cheap shot merchant is Tom Lynch?! Cat.
(No, not a "dog", for dogs are noble creatures. Cats are sly and snarky)

Of course you are only seeing the bits shown on camera. There was a fair bit off camera.

Going forward, these will now be standard issue for all games featuring Richmond. Not just the opposition either.

Great game to clearly identify your weak points. Do not want to see Farrell, Lienert or Sutcliffe anywhere near this team come finals. Rozee, Motlop and Burton needed for their leg speed which makes us far more balanced. Woodcock that genuine smart crumbing forward we've been crying out for. Ladhams is developing at a rate of knots, where did this aerial prowess come from? It feels like we'll be right there with a full list to chose from.
I'm ambivalent towards who is in our team come finals. Most important is we have a team with players who know their role and are clear on the structure and game plan.

Every premiership team has a collection of various talent levels, if they perform as a group then the sum of the individuals is not important.

How was the Jack riewoldt hit on Jonas sack not intentional?

All strikes off the ball surely must be intentional (I can see a fake spoil becoming a careless strike) and all should be met with suspensions, regardless of their force and where they hit the body, if the VFL is serious about removing cheap shots and violence from the game.

I stumbled across that "First Crack" thingy with the tart David King and he/they just added to my enormous frustration at how all I've heard today was Richmond this,Richmond that, how many players Richmond had out and the most infuriating of all, what an even game it was.

Of the 11 goals Richmond kicked, 4 at least were gifts from disgraceful umpiring. We missed 7 sitters. We were a ten goal better team than them but somehow, Richmond kept getting away with pushing our players in the back time and time again. They kept dropping the ball when tackled which I'm led to believe is incorrect disposal. There isn't a law that says umpires have to even up the free kick count! We played in front, got our hands to the ball first and were not payed the frees that were f*****g obvious even to the novice.

None of the "experts" said anything about "Dusssty" being intimidated by Hartlett and SPP into being a useless, quivering mess. None of them mentioned that we had 6 regulars out of our side, nah, just the Richmond 5 plus Edwards who's out indefinitely.

As much as this gives me the shits, it reminds me of the days we were always sold short and we made the "experts" and pretenders eat shit and we are going to do it this year.

We annihilated Richmond and they won't get anywhere near us in the finals.

I saw it too. I think they partly guess and and are good enough to make it look like they know how every player in every side is performing and what every teams game plan is. King made us sound one dimensional by suggesting our game plan revolves around being super reliant on Charlie.

Is he really wrong on Dixon, though?
Can we afford losing him?

Yep, most of these "experts" think they know every player and pretend they have a deep understanding of how teams play - they've got to live up to their expert tag.

Good to see you posting. I hope you and your loved ones are OK?

We aren't one dimensional. Although Dixon is an important cog in our line up and he's having a great year, now with Ladhams standing up as a key forward and along with Georgiadis who will get a run of games until Marshall comes back as well as having Westie in the wings and Lienart can also go there if we need him. Our structures will remain even without Charlie and so long as our forwards compete and bring the ball to ground, we'll be alright but of course, we would be better with Dixon.

We are fine. My niece has just been born in São Paulo of all places, but so far everyone has been well.

I have had an uncle and a cousin (his son) with covid, but they are all fine now.

We have reached 100k deaths, but the number of recoveries is over 2 millions. It is far from over, but it hasn’t been all bad.

Ebert is better than woodcock at this point in time. Easy to get carried away with two ok performances from a new young kid and he certainly has a future, but right now Ebert should be ahead of him when fit.

Good problem to disagree on. Woodcock creative with ball and one touch. Ebert better overhead and tackling machine. I just like speed in our forward 50

Those MRO charges are just as we expected. Swap the jumpers and our team would have been largely watching from the hotel this week.

One thing that irks me and we saw the same last year against us. Riewoldt's fines are both classed as "second offences". As they were separate infringements, how does that work?

Yeah we are Charlie-centric but the difference from previous years is that we have a functioning forward line that can step up when needed. As Charlie draws the best 3 or 4 defenders, a good structure around him will generate opportunities.

I think too we have enough structure and depth to cover if Charlie's not there. A bit thinner with Todd out, I'll admit. A lot more confidence in the forwards and our i50s are somewhat more considered as well. Helps when the midfield gets on top.

And I think we're getting better in this area too. David King does make a good point, but as we saw because Dixon is in great form 2 or 3 defenders have to go with him which leaves room for Butters, Gray, Rozee etc. Where I think we might struggle is coming up against a very good defender like Harris Andrews that can take him one on one and halve the contest. But with Georgiades and now Ladhams getting more experience as forward 50 marking targets this will both open things up for Dixon and guard against us being too Charlie-centric.

In my opinion though the biggest benefit of having Ladhams and Georgiades and a wealth of contested marking targets is the long kick down the line to just forward of centre. It means teams have to defend this more than they would against other teams which can open up the corridor for us. In addition Houston, Clurey and Jonas are all very good at contested marks from rebound 50s to help lock it in. Good times.
