He was absolutely incredible today.

What a leader.

Massive respect.

He was great today, absolute gun player and leader, glad I traded him into my Supercoach team last week but we played right into his hands literally.

It seemed like every time we went forward we kicked it either straight to him or to a one on one mismatch where he outmarked our forwards easily.

I was disappointed with Ross Lyon, I thought he would have been smart enough to curb his influence, we looked like a dumb Richo/Ratten team today.

Our mids try hard but unfortunately they move like crabs. The longer the year goes the more exposed we’re getting in there. There’s no damage from our stoppages but there is when it goes the other way, I hope that it was a real eye opener how badly we were torched in the middle.

Clearly we’d be making up the numbers if we made finals. If we’re going to make it at least do it with some youngsters in the middle. Do it like every other team does and just throw them in there and put up with the short term pain for long term gain otherwise it’s just another mid table season for nothing.

No club has shat on its members more than this club and when positivity inevitably tuns back into disappointment, raging online is all we have.

Just watched Ross’s press conference. Pretty honest. We should have lost by more. What he says behind closed doors to the team and individuals is perhaps another thing. But he was pretty calm.

Still seems to be working through what they all can and cannot do. Some interesting things if you read between the lines about where some of the players are at. Windy working on stuff. Billings a fair way off. Members got to work into it more. No quick fixes or panic buttons.

I think the year of ‘exploration’ is a real thing. You can see he is under no pressure. I think they will work their way through it. There are changes ahead on the list front. Think he just wants to work it through and give the players ownership. Some will deserve it, some won’t.

Hard to summarise his conferences as they are a stream of consciousness. But he lets you know quietly that he is onto stuff. I feel slightly better after watching it.
Really? Alot of 'I dunno's' in there. Laughing and joking with the reporters lol. Doesn't fill me with much confidence at all. Only thing he said that I agreed with is that we got our right whack and would've snatched it had we won. Rest of it was him avoiding the issues and downplaying/laughing them off.

I was watching him closely in the last because we were sitting down his end. Sharman's job was to take him away from the footy but he couldn't do it. Sharman would run back to the goal square and Sicily would just ignore him, and Sharman would eventually come up to the contest to try to have an impact.

To be fair to sharman we were kicking to 40-70m out a lot in the last, obviously he was trying to get dangerous and if our backs/mids find a handball or that last short kick to get it deep he’s probably getting shots on goal.

He said he's trying to build a high trust environment, I think that was the most important part of it tbh.

My read is that he's not tearing strips off them at the moment because they're soft and then they'll just check out completely. He needs to go one step at a time on getting them to believe that he has their best interests at heart and then gradually pushing them to become the players they can be.

Yeah totally, it was pretty obvious they were all short entries so it was easy for Sicily to know where to run to. If the mids were doing their jobs then we would have been able to exploit his zoning off much more.

Part of reading between the lines. He’s not going to come out and bag them in public. Behind closed doors (as I said) I think it is another matter. Sounds like he’s put it fair and square with the players. Some will perform. Some will perish. Up to them. Think that’s fair.

Not the old ‘give em a spray and flog them on the track’. But I think he will have let them know about playing in a complementary fashion. That was his term.

I think the proof of what happens behind closed doors is in the way we play on the weekend. Same issues as last year.

Late in the last quarter we sent Battle to try to mind him but we couldn't win it from the middle.

Yeah agreed, but if they're snowflakes then they can't be fixed in a few months of working with them (or possibly at all).
Doesn't mean supporters can't be upset about it.

Just admit to yourself you will never see a Saints flag, and the angst leaves and you are calm.

I'm almost ready to admit we won't see regular finals in my lifetime. They are a shameful weak organisation. Carlton and St Kilda should merge and join the Ammos where the competition is more on par with their levels of shitness. They might not win much but they won't be shown up by guys who have to go out and do manual labour to pay their rent.

I'm not sure I want to put my money in again next year. They haven't kept the promise of not shaming the fans with poor efforts.

He did mention our midfield looked pedestrian - which they have for weeks. I also mentioned Sharman to Sicily worked in the 3rd, but Sharman is not a shut down player. As mentioned above we seemed to just keep kicking it to Sicily's area even when Max was one out with Blanck.

A really poor week all round hopefully as Wilk's suggested they have a very honest review, including the coaches.
