I have no problem if supporters feel this is like a loss.
The club has yet to show this season thay this is anything but trying to keep Ken his job.
We needed that % boost. Being unable to play 4 quarters against a shit team is not premiership like.

We actually lost the second half by 24 points. Extrapolate that over a game and it's an 8 goal thumping. We were belted in the second half.
Belted. On our home deck. With 8 wins on the trot and our tails up. By the youngest team in the comp, missing their captain and best player, who would have been as low as you could possibly be.
It's like we felt sorry for them and just gave up. Really bizarre stuff. You can't flirt with form and confidence in the AFL. We're not good enough to be able to turn it on and off. Melbourne won a flag and they can't do it.
If the coaches weren't absolutely laying into them at 3/4 time and saying we need to win the last quarter... And then they come out and boot 3 in 5 minutes under no pressure.

People have rocks in their head if you think the 2nd half was going to be like the 1st half after Lycett went off.
Completely unrealistic expectations.
Resting Lycett was the right thing to do and putting players who were gassed after the first half in the middle without a Ruck produced a predictable outcome.
The Hawks after their last 2 starts showed they are on the up and had Sicily played we expected this to be a fight.

Scoring is overrated.
The lack of killer instinct which still resonates within this team just won’t go away. Instead of sending the Hawks back to the Stone Age, we allowed them to get their tails up & finish all over us.

I fully expected us to not do much in the second half. I didn't expect us to allow 11 goals and become witches hats.
If the second half was a competitive contest and we only add a goal or two to the half time margin no one cares. To completely stop is embarrassing, especially when percentage is important.

It's a 4 quarter game that was over and I mean completely over at half time.
% is nothing against 1 single win that losing Lycett could cost us though injury or losing form though fatigue which most of us see as a issue.
10 goals is not falling over the line.
10 goals is a thrashing at this level.

At the game you could see the players looked knackered just before half time. They did a heap a running in the hottest part of the day - I said to my son that hawthorn would come back but I didn’t think that well. port couldnt get a clearance and the hawks always had a free player at the back of each pack.

This is exactly right.
Our continued lack of killer instinct under this regime just reinforces my belief that regardless of what they do during the season, this team can not win a preliminary.
