A statement needs to be made. Gunston, Rich, Berry and Bailey all dropped next week. Get Ah Chee and Lohmann in. Bring back Zorko. Kiddy back into the 22. Maybe give Fort another go.

I'm sick of Fagan backing the players in to turn it around. They got that chance today after the loss to Adelaide and didn't come to the party. Drop some of the untouchables.

Well piss poor at best .No excuses we should have done them in a canter but credit to the hawks gave it their best , played as we should have.really screws our season totally

Shamefull

Definitely had a bit of deja vu halfway through that 3rd quarter. There's a clear blueprint thats been laid on how to beat us. I hate saying it but we really do go to water when the heat gets turned up.

Funny thing is you could have posted this exact same thing after the prelim loss in 2020 and it would have still been true.

Nothing has really improved.

Just have to leave Bailey as a forward. He's completely useless as a midfielder and never uses his strengths when playing in that position

What we don't have is consistent effort. What we don't have is a coaching staff able to get that effort out of the players. What we don't have is an ability or plan to play in a way to maximise our abilities. What we don't have is a coaching staff prepared to make hard decisions and drop players who are not contributing. We are soft, lazy, unaccountable and poorly coached.

Gunston - in the bin
Rich - in the bin
Prior - in the bin

Bailey, every time he got it he turned it over. Love him as a player but he’s on thin ice at the moment

Berry hardly sighted at all.

I don’t think Gardiner was as bad as some are saying, he was good in the first half, only came a bit unstuck in the second half - but the ball was coming in a million times so what can you do.

Dev keeps his spot easily, kept us in it at times

I really don’t know what happened there in the second half to be honest. Our pressure was great in the first half, but the second half we just gave them all the space in the world. Why? F*ck knows.

Classic example of hard work beating talent when talent doesn't work hard. I thought we'd turned the corner in terms of effort this year but we're clearly still too picky about when we want to do the hard running.

Hawks have the wood on us.

They invariably go to another level when they play us and we can't seem to go with them.

Their leg speed on the outside made us look like witches hats in the second half
It's no wonder, Gunston talks daily to Breust, you can guess what they are discussing

Gunston, Berry, Rich, Prior all OUT

Fort, Zorko, Ah Chee, Lohmann IN

The player i've seen enough of for the year is Jarrod Berry. I'd happily delist him when his contract is up. Gives zero ****s.

Really poor effort wise.

We talked up aiming for Top 2 . We're 8-4

If there aren't some significant changes to the playing group this week then we have an endemic fantasy syndrome

OUT GUNSTON
we tried and it failed its okay to accept that
but he cant play in the side the rest of the year surely
But... but... but... his running patterns are excellent. :drunk:

I have been calling for weeks for him to be dropped and then try and get some form in the VFL but he keeps on getting picked.

Not sure what we were thinking going into the game

Can only assume what we tried to do we just completely failed implementing

Need some big changes otherwise it's a 4th wasted season in a row
Mulligans all around. Fagan has demonstrated zero capacity to learn from his mistakes. Will select Rich and Gardiner and Gunston and Berry again next week. We could have done with Lester out there, but Fagan goes with an out of touch Gardiner. It was apparent that Rich was absolutely COOKED after the Adelaide loss, but Fagan doubles down and Rich is twice as putrid. Fagan is going to take us backwards. If he doesn’t retire at the end of the season, he should be sacked.

Ah well, its a shame. I don't think it's the MCG though, I think it was more the bye. I also don't know that anyone would say we are mentally tough. We apply effort based on ladder position, and we generally don't have the willpower to turn it on when it's off. They just kinda expect it'll happen.

Bailey - nowhere. Just nothing.
Coleman - will not run defensively. Brought him on at 3QT and we still see players running past him like he's standing still. I was surprised, a little concerned, and also a bit impressed when the coaches omitted him. Then they didn't. Groan.

Dev needs to stay now. That was an AFL level game from him.
