Fab5 I went with Dunkley, Robertson, Hipwood, Payne and Cameron.

Also thought Wilmot, McCluggage, Ashcroft but in decent efforts.

Bottom5 for me were Rich, Gunston, Daniher, Prior, Berry.... with competition from a few others.

Players I’m happy ship off:
Bailey
Berry
Rich
Gunston
Linc
Gardiner

Some are worth currency, some out to pasture. The time has come to bring in younger blood.
Surely too early to be calling time on Bailey & Berry. Only a season or two ago that they were earning weekly plaudits by journos and commentators.

Your Lions have been amazing this year, just an off game for your team. You will bounce back next week for sure. In saying i that thought my Hawks deserved the win.

Well wishes on Hugh McGgluggage, hopefully his injury is not to serious.

My tip... Lions V Pies for GF day 2023.
We have not been amazing this year. Largely average. Hawks deserved the win today but I’ve never seen a worse performance from the Lions. Just awful across the board. Didn’t take much from the Hawks to get up.

Fagan is unlikely to make wholesale changes - he's always been pretty loyal to a core group of players. Ruthlessness need to start from the top. We need a new coach I think.
They gave him a contract extension earlier in the year for some reason.

I thought for the stage they are at the Hawks were very impressive, they knew what our weakness was and carried out the plan to perfection, a young team on the up.

I've said this before...Fagan has done a great job getting the club to this point, but that's now not good enough. Need to get a proven coach who's played at the top level and know's what it takes to get that extra 10 percent out of a talented group. If the club doesn't even make a phone call...it's kidding itself.

Maybe it's actually Mrs. Hardwick that we should be calling?

The writing was on the wall as soon as Fagan’s team was announced. Fagan dropped an in form Lester for an out of form Gardiner and retains Rich, who was beyond putrid against Adelaide.

Me this morning:

“Any chance we don’t ‘turn up’ today and are embarrassed in the same way we were against Port Adelaide and Footscray?”

You can set your watch by loses like today’s.

P.S. Rich had zero tackles again today. Season tally is still TWO tackles.

Gunston doesn’t deserve to grace the field in lions colours in Amd afl game for the rest of 2023
I thought he was cooked after 3 games . Can't run or contest.

Just completely gobsmacked at what the Club said this week .

Do they think if we keep talking him up he's going to miraculously come good ?

He came here for a pay check but is his heart really in it ?? Doesn't play like it.

The good thing about footy is there is always next week...plus a good reason to do something productive iso watching all the footy shows:)

Zac Bailey is indicative of our team at the moment.

The easy option of kicking the ball of the ground rather than putting your head over it & attempting to pick it up appears to be acceptable. Far too often our players take the easy & weak option - defensive running etc. Standards need to be player driven, until this changes we just make up the numbers.

This is beyond the obvious selection issues. Clear distinct lack of leadership at a couple of levels.

Yeh Rich is done. He was never quick but his reaction times seem even worse, add to that his left boot is no longer what it was, the time has come at the end of 23.

Disappointing loss today but aren't they all.
Looked to me like our players turned up expecting a win without putting in an obvious effort to get it done.
That's two interstate games in a row that a very young team turned up to play from the get-go, and our experienced team failed both times.

Also, 6 interstate games for 2 wins & 4 losses. We were favorites in all the 4 losses.
The remaining interstate games will indicate if we are going to be a chance come finals times.
Marvel - Saints, Pies
Optus - Dockers
MCG - Demons

My preseason expectations were to finish top 4 and hopefully that ends up being the case.
Swans in 6 days to redeem ourselves to some extent.

I actually haven't watched any of the game. Just got home from work then.

Do I need to put myself through that?

I had mates calling & messaging me all day lol. I felt like I was there anyways
