Hoping that Dear retains his spot and Watson comes back in - will leave those decisions to match selection committee.

I think this match will give us an important idea of how we are travelling this year - we have been in a purple patch of form but have not beaten a top 8 team. We have come close a few times but actually winning would be a visible improvement. Just hope that we can keep the form going as it has been an exciting few weeks with plenty of green shoots.

Big test for the midfield this week.

Green is one of the best two or three contested midfielders in the league and Jelly, Coniglio and Whitfield are extremely damaging. Callaghan is going to be a Rolls Royce too.

Nash will probably have to sit on Green all game.

Newcombe, Day and Worpel will go head to head against Coniglio, Callaghan, Jelly (if fit?) and whoever else they roll through there.

If Meek gets up then it will be a big battle between him and big Briggs.
Cogs and Kelly are out.
It's our midfield v Green, Ward and some kids.

Hoping Meek gets up for Briggs. We're gonna need him.

Firstly against Cameron ,
Seamus was not his direct opponent when he had his shots on goal that I observed?
I feel Sam is putting Shammy through a learning period of defence first so he can work his way through this while learning how to then win possession and use his weapons?
So be patient guys and we will reap the rewards!

Green hasn't been in the best of form lately either, so we really should win that battle.

Everyone else disses teams we have beaten, but they were talked up before. And bulldogs are top 8

No way they deserve to be raging hot favourites. It is in Tassy not Sydney. We have been the underdogs in our last 4 wins and to be honest I am sick of the bs odds in our games! Reckon we will smack them through the midfield and I clearly don’t rate them as highly as you do.

Recently they drew v hawthorn and beat sydney by a point.

Odds on a close game you’d think.

Yeh, I think we beat teams in good form at the time. Last week, Adelaide smashed West Coast by 99, the week before Brisbane beat Richmond by 119 and Port were in form in a game we really should have won, so it's not like we picked off struggling teams.

I also think the media are starting to talk us up rather than talk our opposition down.

Ankle injury a few weeks back. He might come good after having a week off.

I’m starting to feel nervous. Not used to all this optimism! Still, it’s in Tassie, we’re in good form, GWS are not unbeatable.
Hope Hardwick starts in the forward line. Go Hawks!
Definitely not unbeatable…. You guys are in good form, playing in Tassie and we are missing a few very important players …. 50/50 game with maybe a slight edge to the Hawks

meant in the way in which we are able to continue our form, why i said not in the normal. personally i love going in as underdogs - hope everyone keeps doubting us and not jump on the kane train!! just they wait
I understand where you're coming from.

If we can be competitive, it will be a sign of our improving maturity. Getting smashed won't be a disaster, but will definitely knock us around a bit.

I’ve always believed thrashing’s are not good for the following week. Even in our prime, we’d struggle the week after belting someone. And in finals? A easy match is the worst thing one can hope for.

Will be a real test. Such positive publicity this week, hoping the players don’t drink their own bath water.

Giants are gettable. Minimal changes - only those forced by injury.
The only time I worry about this creeping in is when players start gloating BEFORE a goal has been kicked.

Still, I'm backing them in to stay grounded, knowing that nothing will come easily and to keep up the effort and pressure. 🤞

I was at the oval for the first 30 minutes of the “light training” this morning, no Meek in sight, Reeves was walking (not running) laps, Clayton Tucker is in a separate drill (probably not 100%).
Hopefully Meek shows up in the main training or Reeves joins the main group this Thursday.
JOS and Sugar still doing their rehab drills.

Serong is back with the main group.
Lewis is with the main group as well.

Our MSD pick #39 Jasper Scaife is also present.

Dear, Scaife and chol already setting the triangle formation on instinct 😅

Yep that drives me crazy. StKilda game Rowan Marshall embarrasses himself and kicks it straight to Ginni. Instead of slotting the goal and then telling him about it. They do it before the shot and then Ginnivan shanked it. Same with this week and CJ headbutt. also remember 1 against brisbane too.

Scaife's got a solid set of legs, good signs.

With our gutter percentage we’ll have to win a hell of a lot of games to even make finals- smashings from Melbourne, Gold Coast and Sydney have really hurt us
Wouldn’t worry too much about percentage as it’ll come if we start winning games. Last two games of the year against Rich and NM could be real percentage boosters.
