CJ is definitely working hard and we probably will carry him through his poor form, but on the weekend his opponent finished with 28 and a goal.

I imagine he’d have to be a bit better defensively against the giants if we are to win.

looking more and more like Meek AND Reeves might not be available the weekend.
no problem, Ramma and Chol will do the job.

Ramma had what I'd call a breakout game in the ruck on the weekend. For the first half he looked amazing. It wouldn't be the worst week to bring him in, he should have some confidence.

I didn't think he played poorly. He had a few almost marks which would have changed his fortunes a bit. Plus, he's the type of player who has more impact than his possessions suggest. Hasn't played much on the wing and will need more time to develop.

If there's a change it'll be Wingard for either Shammy or Breust.

I think we give Wiz a couple games at BH for consistency and to give him a bit more room.
I'd love Ward to come in but I don't think our midfield mix changes until there's an injury.

I don't think we'll be in a rush to retire Breust, I think we'll see him get to game 300 in 2025 very tactically.

Shammy going nowhere. He will lock down Daniels this week. Backline is humming, be mad to change it. Only person I see going out in form in CJ.
If Meeks fit then he comes in for Reeves. Reckon we will unleash Chad after the bye. Plenty of match winning games left in Wingard yet.
I want CJ to stay in. Think he needs some continuity and is playing in a new position. He’s only really played half back since joining the club (apart from a small stint up fwd when he was first drafted).

It might take some time but I reckon he’ll dominate the wing once he adjusts to it. Has all the attributes.

Just the two changes this week, Meek back in for Reeves if he's fit, and Wiz for Breust (groin management/newborn duties)

As others have said, even if Seamus was on the chopping block (which I don't think he is) GWS is not the team to do that against.

No Cogs, Kelly, Ash, or Perryman for them, and at the moment our midfield and half forwards are humming along nicely, could be another big game for Moore and Ginni.

They're coming off a bye, don't tend to travel well, and it's in Tassie. I think we win this.
Don’t tend to travel well? They won at something like 11 different venues last year, odd take.

GWS record at MCG last 25 games is 27%. The 'don't travel well' myth is from their poor performance there, where most people watch them away from home.

I cant remember a season where ive seen so many people suggest a player needs a rest.
Team rotation is probably a better term than 'rested'. I'm one of the few on here who's backed Gunston all year, but Sam Mitchell has stated his role will be coming in and out of the side – regardless of form – playing his mentor role; so if that means giving Watson some game time, it means he's playing his role. Am hoping we keep him and Breust 2025 to do the same.

Im not sure id be swapping out a med/tall who is creating the opportunities that he is for a small. I think we are beyond the point of gifting games because someone is young or had a good week at box hill. This is what happens when you build a squad with depth.
Ive got no doubt he's also mentoring on field as well, probably acting as a second voice for Hickmont down forward directing traffic.

I think it would be far better structurally and contribution wise swapping out Breust for him.

That's the luxury of depth for sure, but reckon Breust deserves bit of a run from here on. Anyway, I was just going upon our coach's appraisal of why we recruited Gunston. (Though Sam could have easily being bullshitting as a PR spin for dropping a premiership teammate...) Either way, reckon Watson needs to come in.

Yeah i agree. I would love Watson in. My issue with Breust is that Mitchell has kept saying he's groins aren't great. So i just dont love the idea of playing him over what seems to be a fit and firing Gunston.

We are now at the point there are a few players i would to be in, but none that i want to see go out.. haha
