8 trades (i know, i went to the off season trading camp of Judd_Magic ) & $104K in the kitty.

This week I've gone Jager to T Mitch & Docherty to Birchall.
Wanted to go Caff to Buddy too but $6k short. That's ok he won't jump much.

Unfortunately next week I'll be just shy of Valsti to Watson, he's the last mid I want.

So next weeks trades( ) Gawn to Judge Roy McBean, Caff a Latte to Buddy or Nic Nat paddywhack I have a bone. Nic Nat will be coming in at some stage & one of Minson or Goldstein.

$57k (with cotchin)

Wanted to do Laird -> Hanley to complete my backs but not enough cash so thinking of either of the following to free up cash for Hanley next week:

Laird -> Wilson or Laird -> Daniher (Staker to DEF)

Don't really like either of their job security, leaning towards Wilson as I'd have good DEF cover (Vlastuin/Goodes) where as I'd only have Daniher and McBean in the FWD if I went that way. If Wilson gets picked will also mean I have 19 playing this week which is appealing. Thoughts?

Seeing as she has already made one trade below and Toxic's suggestion of moving Bartel to the FWD's is not available, I'd suggest going Rampe -> J.Selwood. Sure Rampe will probably rise 30k ish this week, but this can be offset by Selwoods expected price rise (playing against Brisbane, good chance to rise more than expected), extra points he will provide and subsequent rankings rise.

or Mrs G could hit that amazing god only created button "Reverse Trades" are you sure - i keep looking for the hell yes I'm sure hurry up button!

toxic 's idea is actually the best thing she could do this week. Macaffer > Jelwood (Bartel to forwards) then next week Rampe > Daniher (Bartel back to the mids as he's wasted in her forwards as she already has 6 fwd premos) & Blicavs > Swan...could afford anyone really. Complete side with 4 trades for LTI's

Traded him for Pendlebury two weeks ago. Biggest disappointment from the season for me. Averaged 90 in his last full season and I was expecting a breakout year once he got fully fit and on the park. Showed what he could do against WCE when he came on as the sub 5 min before 3qtr time and scored 75 odd points.

As Toxic alluded to, acceptable as bench cover, but not a hell of a lot else.

Yeah, it certainly does & I had worked that out. Just reticent to trade out a guy who still has cash to make, especially when Buddy is probably going to go up less than Thurlow, if he plays. Perhaps that is the pertinent point?

we are talking about a D8 - someone who sadly clogs up defence, whether it be thurlow or shockerty.. Goodes at D7 covers any issues on the field

Very true. I can always leave Shockerty as my emg loophole for finals, unless he tons up a few times.

I like those 2 trades. I would also do a 3rd pre-emptive downgrade trade Macaffer > Daniher or Gawn > McBean

The latter probably the better option as Gawn (BE 89) will leak cash this week if he plays.

Yes, it's a week early and you are low on trades (I'll have only 5 after this week but my starting 22 is complete) but we do go back to 2 trades a week in Rd14 so by downgrading one of those 2 maxed out rooks this week, you will have either 300k or 240k depending on which player you downgrade, you would then be able to do 2 upgrade trades next week, if you so choose....anyway, that's what I would do.

Fwd: Naitinui, S Johnson, Bartel, D Martin, Rockliff, Franklin (Staker, Daniher)
7 trades & $28k left.

I’m a little nervous about the Daniher trade, given he’s on the bye this week and it will be too late to reveal if he’s out next week, but the only other realistic option for Crouch is Hrovat whose job security doesn’t look much better.

*For the record, for this week I would essentially swap D Martin for B Kennedy this week for the byes, though with 10 trades left, I’m happy to cop a couple of donuts this week in liu for getting a strong completed (or close to) team for the rest of the year.

New trade ideas I've just been thinking about.

O'Meara > T.Mitchell
Macaffer > Stevie J

Then next week depending on how Boyd goes (M8) Boyd > Gibbs and swing Goodes down to mid bench.

B - Goddard, Hanley, H.Shaw, Gibbs, Duffield, Vlastuin (Thurlow, L.Brown)

M - Ablett, Pendlebury, Kennedy, J.Selwood, Dangerfield, Cotchin, Swan, T.Mittchell (Goodes, Crouch)


*At some point I will downgrade Thurlow > Colquhoun which will allow me to swing Goodes to my backline to effectively act as my 7th defender if need be.

Further down the track once Mitchell has maxed out I will switch B.Kennedy to mid bench and turn Mitchell into a good mid/forward who can help cover both lines during finals.

The more I think about it the more I like these trade ideas.

What does everyone think? Am I crazy????

t's scary how similar our teams are. Then again most squads are all the same now barring 3-4 players.

But honestly Judd Magic are you really gaining anything by trading Boyd > Gibbs ??? Not IMO a great deal of difference there. Wasting trades you don't have I think....
