I know not great this week, but with 10 trades left, I'm looking at trades that will finish my team. So this week, taking advantage of three trades I thought:
JK Kennedy to Bartel
Macaffer to Daniher
Crouch to D. Martin

Then next week I swap Martin for B. Kennedy giving me a dpp link between my mids and my forwards, and trade Thurlow to Oxley to give the dpp to Staker. At should leave me 6 trades and $150-$180k in my bank to turn Vlaustin into Hanley/Heppell/Hibberd when they bottom out and Martin/Mitchell/ B Kennedy into a premium, with the added option of Rowe to McBean if I need extra cash.

Think Tom Mitchell is a must, definitely go that way (I thought that was the Mitchell you were originally speaking of). Not sure of Burbury's job security, if he can hold his p,ace , could be a good trade, but Geelong have a few to come back, and think he could be squeezed out. I think you need at least one playing rookie in your forwards. If there are none you think can hold their spot, consider Oxley to give the dpp link to Staker.

I think it could be too early to get rid of Martin, he still has a breakeven of -41. If you utilised Tom Mitchell & Martin for M8 for a couple of weeks, you could probably afford to get a $500-$600k premium mid for one of them.

Yeah completely agree with you on Burbury. The only problem with all of this is that after this week, i'll only have 5 trades left :/. Appreciate the help though mate. Much appreciated!!

Ok after going through what seems like billion trading options I've narrowed it down to these 2 -


Option A

O'Meara > Mitchell (Definite trade)
L.Brown > Birchall

* Leaves me with 19 players on the ground and Thurlow as a backline emergency. Have to play Staker as 6th forward though. $156,500 in the kitty.


Option B

O'Meara > Mitchell (Definite trade)
Goodes > Birchall
Macaffer > Stevie J

* Leaves me with 18 players on the ground and Staker as a forward emergency. Have to play Thurlow as 6th defender though. $70,500 in the kitty.


What option does everyone think is best?

Kinda leaning towards option B but I loose Goodes.

Also should I use the $70,500 for next week to upgrade Vlastuin to Gibbs which would complete my team but have only 4 trades left. LOL!

I'd go for Goodes and Macaffer here, but it kind of depends where they are on your field for the remaining rounds (ie. bench or not??). I think I'd need more information to give you an informed answer though..

your 3rd trade can be one of two ways as i see it..
Trade a rookie for a rookie on the bubble or at least playing
Potentially trade Sierakowski to a def rookie that is playing
Potentially trade Crouch to a rookie who gets a game (Dees will almost certainly go with their kids now so number 4 draft pick Jimmy Toumpas might be an option)
or 3rdly sideways a non playing premium for a playing premium

I think upgrade one of Vlas/Thurlow/Docherty to Shaw next week and Crouch to someone like Selwood/JP Kennedy/Hannebury probably this week. Depending on how much can that leaves you could then look at upgrading Goodes/Vlas to Heppell/Hibberd when they bottom out.

Does anyone think Mitchell (SYDNEY) will be a good M8?

Put it this way...it just doesnt get any less risky to run a rook even at this stage of the season. Most will. Solidly built, cpl of easier games coming up, in a midfield thats winning more ball than most. Not a hard decision when u consider any other established primo midfielder can shit on us at anytime with a 60-80 from a hard tag...and they will. Its actually one of the easier decisions u can get right now.

PLUS...its supposed to be fun. Its a game isnt it ?..the great unknown and a bit of risk is good for the soul. Who the hell wants to have the first ever $600K rookie warming the bench for the next 6 weeks ?

One more mid, but obviously wait till Mitchell has peaked (would be good if you could trade BKennedy to mid bench for DPP with Martin & Rockliff) - Dangerfield?

Wait for Kmart, Staker or Crouch confused to peak, then grab Nic Nat (fwd) when his score comes off a bit, Mayne & JJK as F6/7/8

Luxury trades could be Swan (def), another mid & move SJohnson fwd, or even Bartel (fwd) depending on trades left & $$,
