Great win, I love the performance of the youngsters, Brown's, Daicos, IQ they will be up and down but all of them have a crack and it paid off today. Last few weeks so many times on this board it has been "C brown or this youngster should never play again" but they just need game time and leadership from senior players which they appeared to get today.
Agreed except for the oldest and most experienced of the group, Callum, who is not up to AFL football. The other 3 have already passed him.

Fantastic win today fellas....Why most in the media have written you guys off already just astounds me, with the quality you have to return I still view you as a legitimate threat. Also, from the outside Taylor Adams just seems to get better every year, just a great player to watch. 👍

We've been very flat last 2 months. But seriously this year the flag could be won by anyone in the 8-it's that sort of season

The media weren't alone; even a heap of the most positive 'pies supporters had written us off after the Melbourne debacle. It's looks like we might be turning a corner the past fortnight, however we've only beaten North and Carlton. Friday will be a better assessment of where we sit.

Like many, I have been a critic of Stevo this year. Hasn’t chased, bit hungry for goal and hasn’t put his body on the line. But I reckon Bux would be highlighting to the players his effort at half forward with about 10 minutes to go. I think it was Ploughman who had better position but dogged it and took his eyes off it conceding a free. It showed guts from a skinny kid who has had a pretty tough year from the get go. Credit to the boy.

There was some debate whether Cameron should play - if you watch the game from around 4 minutes left in 3rd QTR - Cameron does all the Ruck work and Grundy returns at the start of the last QTR giving him a break of 15 minutes.
Grundy was huge in the last QTR - so the long break would definitely have helped.

The most satisfying win against Carlton since Mick coached them. The unfounded arrogance blowing up in their supporters faces is a sight to behold.

For all the talk of not playing well recently, we've been able to still win enough games to keep us firmly in the top eight. If we get a few more players back and finally have a decent injury run, we could go further than most expect us.

Adams was excellent. Clearly our next captain in waiting once Pendles relinquishes it. Daicos is coming of age and getting better with each passing game. Moore was excellent with several intercept marks and even Elliott played well today.

Our forward structure is still dysfunctional, but at least we started hitting the scoreboard in the final quarter. Cox has been reasonable since his return, though he does his best work when he drops the ball front and centre for someone like Thomas to crumb and kick goals. Cameron doesn't stay in the team after today's performance. Mihocek and Stephenson are crucial for us.

Fantastic to finally equal the head to record after nearly 40 years. Hopefully we can surpass them next year ;)

I felt that Thomas benefitted from the stricture that Cox provided today and was constantly at his feet. There was more movement in general in front of the ball, unsurprisingly because the corridor and the wide switch was used more effectively.
I did not see that performance coming.
Loved the ability of Daicos to find a gear after a quiet first half. Competitive maturity.

We had some ordinary weeks after we played your mob, the media had a point, need to see how we go over the next few weeks but it feels better.

Geez I felt the umpires were doing all they could for the Blues there. Not a holding the ball decision in sight and the number of times they were caught on toast was ridiculous.

Good win, hardly a bad thing to say. Hopefully the very few passengers we had are removed for the best 22 players we have outside the team recovering from injury

Happy for Cox, Noble is very reliable. That was actually the best umpired game I’ve seen all year.

Did you miss the ball droping out of Cripps’ a-hole after being tackled for an eternity (leading directly to a clearance and goal). That blunder alone is an instant fail to the field umpires. Not one of them would call it - horrendous.

We've definitely improved things over the past two weeks. Today's game showed that we are definitely improving on our connectivity and entry into the forward 50. We had a variety of goal kickers today too which provides evidence to this.

We can all say what we want about Cox, but we just play better with him in the side. Even if he isn't playing his best at times, he still takes out two to three defenders. His job isn't just to mark the ball but also to provide some crumbing options and space for the smaller forwards. Cox has to stay in the side from now on.

I liked T. Browns work today.

Stevo needs to stay in the side no matter what. He just makes our attack so much more dangerous.

Brodie Grundy - I’ll fight anyone on this. He’s a victim of his own extremely high standards. People in this forum have bashed him for “taking his money and running”, take a hard look at yourselves. The bloke signed 7 years, he’s all in on this club, and he plays his heart out. Just because he’s had some moments this year where he’s been beaten or hasn’t dominated what we feel is a lesser opponent doesn’t mean he’s all of a sudden not worthy.

Very Well Said jjsmitty8 he is bit of Victim of his last 2 Dominate Seasons. Yes he not been as good as the last 2 but still be at least very Competitive in every game except the Eagles Game. Still big part of us still being in the Top 8

Phillips is a massive disappointment again. His use with ball in hand and link up play going forward is nowhere near good enough to make up for his softness and tendency to sh*t himself under any kind of pressure.
Correct Weight...nothing nothing changes.
