Amazing comeback after one of the worst halves of football we have played in recent memory.
That's a real boost leading into the bye, and then hopefully we can start getting a few players back.
Pendles, Jordy and Checkers hopefully straight back in in 2 weeks. Then, Mitchell, Elliot, Cox and McStay, leading into finals.

Just a side note, if the shoe was on the other foot for that non-50 decision we would all be furious, and rightly so. So let's not kid ourselves that we weren't very lucky there.

Let’s also not get sucked in by haters who were emotionally charged from barracking against our comeback and recognise that he should have been called played on. He clearly was intending to kick, realised he was cornered and took his steps back pretending he was just going back on his mark when he was way off it by that point.

Let’s also not forget they got two goals from umpiring howlers in the first half.
  • there’s no way TJ pushed their ruck enough to warrant a free kick, the dude just went full on Hollywood acting and ran himself to the fence. Result = goal.
  • Maynard’s tackle may be deemed dangerous though look at it closely and the head doesn’t hit the ground, but regardless the ball was out of bounds already from previous north player. Result = goal.

I thought McInness gave us another option up forward.
He should have played from the beginning.

May be time for Howe to also start forward and let Frampton stay back.

At least until we get some players back.
Checkers will be back after the bye according to Fly, so that should eliminate the need for Frampton forward anymore. Unfortunately it will probably be at the expense of Reef, but I hope not.

Also our first half goal that was clearly touched. A better side wouldn't let us back in the game.

Or, the captain of the club puts in a hard shift and keeps one of the oppositions only chances of being in the game quiet.

Disgrace that Moore still gets beaten this badly.

Really need to put Billy back just to cover for Moore. As others have said, he’s been out of form all season. Perplexing.
Absolute garbage.

You have no idea how our defence sets up. Your post is embarrassing.

I also point out that Moore had no goals kicked on him in the second quarter. He only went on Larkey for his last 2 goals of the first quarter when the ball lived in their 50, yet Moore forced him wide yet Larkey still kicked them.

Moore had been in great form since round 4 defensively.

Fisher’s last shot came from a clean 2 handed throw from LDU. Glad that didn’t matter.

Maynard’s tackle had a sling to it, so the free was there. His arms were free though and no head contact to the ground so shouldn’t go any further than that.

Just finished two hot pies for dinner.
I'm having the "Red Wine" replay tonight, you mark my words.
But with a bottle of Scotch.

Nudie run could be on the cards

I am not sure we have a true matchup for Larkey. In 2022 he kicked 6 against us when Moore did not play. We have to understand that when our mids get flogged a player like him will run riot with the way we configure our defence. I remember even Weitering who is better than any of our defenders got 6 kicked on him some years ago.

This isn't Larkey specific. It's due to our defensive setup and it's intentional. Our defence breaks down when overall team effort is down and easy entry is allowed from the middle. It's not a bug, it's a feature and has worked very well.

THere was a clear 50 not paid to the Pies when the north player knocks the ball out of a Collingwood players hand.
PIES HAVE BEEN ON THE ROUGH END OF THE STCK MORE THAN ONCE THIS YEAR, SO DOUBT YOU'LL GET MUCH LOVE FROM ANY TRUE WOODSMAN.

Xerri 100% hammed up the slight contact, then he somehow kicked that shot.

The North player wanted to find the boundary line, he helped make the Maynard tackle what it was.

Yeah not sure we should be calling this a toast, reckon north were robbed of that 50.

How we got 54 points down in the first place is a big big problem.

He played on, he was at least 5m beyond the mark and was looking for an option forward until he realised 2 Collingwood players were right there. Then he stopped, he could’ve stopped earlier if he wasn’t playing on.

We desperately need the bye. Very slow and flat start but fantastic comeback. It wouldn’t have been needed if their goal kicking was so ridiculous.

Need to add;
3) Frampton on Larkey means he doesn’t kick four goals in a half on us. Intercept and rebound is important, but Frampton on the biggest dangerous guy means Moore can play more on edge and provide the intercept and rebound, and we’re ALSO not getting molested by Darcy or Larkey or whoever the ****.
Had we recruited Teakle instead of Bytel, Frampton would have played on Larkey all game today.
