I see the same old usernames posting here, week after week, year after year. I think a lot of you guys are insane, no offence. Stop supporting this football club in any way and you might just see some change for the better.
What a great idea!!

****ing light bulb moment .
If we stopped supporting it in any way, lets say with not buying a membership, that should sort it all out for the better

We are still here and still in the game.

Other clubs like Fitzroy can't say the same thing.

We just need change and get some decent St Kilda people into the club.
No such thing as decent St.Kilda people. They are generational losers when it comes to football culture.

Not doubting their integrity or character, they have no winning culture and would just contribute to the mentally weak attitude of the football club.

Maybe we could merge with North and become the Tasmanian St.Kilda Kangaroos.

Caro just all but confirmed the 'honourable people' at the Saints will extend Ratten even though they had talks with Clarkson at the beginning of the year and nobody except GWS would be in the running.

It just never ends, Ball over Judd, lose RTB, McCartin over Petracca, Billings over Bont, Long over Bolton.

This is a losers club.

The pressure was non existent.

Brad Crouch 4 tackles
Jack Billings 3 tackles
Ben Long 2 tackles
Marcus Wyndhager 2 tackles
Hunter Clarke 2 tackles
Rohan Marshall 1 tackle
Jack Sinclair 3 tackles
Tim Membrey 0 tackles
Ryan Byrnes 1 tackle
Zack Jones 2 tackles

Youre not going to win many games with numbers like this.

Coaches don't like disrupting and moving a key pillar from the defensive set up at a time when your more likely to lose the centre bounce. It's why it is extremely rare for any teams 2nd ruck to be a backline player. Taking someone from the forward line is fine because if you do win it, you can cover up forward more easily than if you take a key defender out of your set up.
Fine.

Howard can play CHF/Ruck (or FB for Sandy if he prefers) and Joyce can have a shot at FB.

Is this actually the case?

I thought it was still in negotiation? Hopefully so.

The last I saw written was that Rats had been offered a 2 year extension, but was in no hurry to sign. Hopefully he did not sign, and that our President will now suspend any offer till seasons end.
Already signed.

They were waiting till winning a game or two to announce the extensions. (Few players too).

Not sure when they announce them now.

I think Riewoldt, Harvey, GT will disagree with this statement.

As will I.

Because if you are well drilled and things aren't going well... then you just need to hit the training track and work harder to get better at executing your set plays and skills.

But when you are NOT well drilled and have no set system or set plays (like us).... when things aren't going well you have nothing concrete to work on nailing at training to build your confidence on game day.

Our entire game 'plan' is based on us having moments of magic on gameday. Magic caused by skillful players who are running around on instinct, while nobody knows what's going to happen one moment to the next.

You can't really practice that (conjuring magic) at training in any sort of repeatable way.
Doing things over and over is what builds confidence.

Our entire 'plan' is to NOT do the same things over and again (ie be unpredictable/instinctive), so we can't really use the one main way there is to build confidence- doing stuff over and over again at training until you have confidence in yourself that you'll execute on gameday under pressure

Yep, as Stavro said at the start of the year, we try to be dour and then hope that we can put the foot down. Except we have one player who can do that so opposition just sit on King. Early in the year Snags was an option as well but he’s a defensive liability like King so you have two scorers that are one way travellers. The rest of the forwards aren’t great at defending either and get bored with their roles. The forwards need a restructure and King needs a mentor.

If they’re looking for an answer to the question …”why not us”….

I seriously would be getting Grant Thomas back to the club, not as the head coach but as a coaching consultant.

He is one of our smartest ex-players, he has our best interests at heart and we have gone downhill since he left.
He’s an idiot too but at least he speaks straight. The hand holding shit is getting us nowhere.

It's like they think because king has good reach the only option is to bomb it in on his head. Him leading to the ball is also an option.

The biggest problem is we're a team full of sh*t kicks

Yeah I mean look at the Swans last night:

Paddy McCartin 0 tackles
Tom McCartin 0 tackles
Tom Hickey 0 tackles
Logan McDonald 1 tackle
Will Hayward 1 tackle
Errol Gulden 1 tackle
Ollie Florent 1 tackle
Ryan Clarke 1 tackle
Braeden Campbell 1 tackle
Dylan Stephens 2 tackles
Dane Rampe 2 tackles
Lance Franklin 2 tackles
Nick Blakey 2 tackles
Chad Warner 3 tackles
Jake Lloyd 3 tackles
Isaac Heeney 3 tackles
Tom Papley 4 tackles
Robbie Fox 4 tackles

Wait they lost tackles 70 to 75 and most of their players barely had any, how did they win the game by 51 points?

Yes, too many people judge NWM by the couple of amazing passes he does, whereas the bulk are poor. And when having a shot on goal he is dreadful.

He is a pure outside running receiver with no defensive game. This was one upon a time what wingman did, but in today's football it is not what goof wingman do.

Now the kid has talent, and he is still young with few games. But for today's game style he has a lot of work to do.

I said early on that his best is sublime but his bad ones are bad. He’ll get better with experience and when teammates won’t move no good kicking is going to help. He did a couple of very good signs yesterday, stepped in to block a fast moving Buddy using his twig frame and flew the flag to run in for a teammate in Sincs who was getting roughed up. He’s going to be a good player.

They didn't need to tackle... they just applied pressure and waited until we kicked the ball back to them.
