He’s lucky he played okay but he’s starting to be a worry. Low production, low pressure and he’s veeeery slow. He’s not got an obvious best position. Slow small defenders aren’t in demand and slow mids have to win a lot of their own ball. He might be trade bait. Their draft is starting to smell as well.

Probably the most disappointing players in the top 35 of the draft are Saints. Nearly everyone else has picked up except our guys. Injury hasn’t helped but there might be another couple in our s**t drafting list soon. At least Bonar our other love is the next most disappointing.

Gringo Clark is the least of our worries like heck the guy gets his face smashed shoulder cooked and comes back into a calamity. He just looks laconic.

Yep. He’s in his fifth year now and has been back from injury for nearly 2 months now. Needs to pull his finger out and turn himself into a top 5 player at the club next year or he could be on the trade table.

It’s funny how we’ve gone away from what works, and gone back to what was terrible in the first half of last season. It literally looks exactly the same as early last year.

Yea it’s funny like Ratts said when things were going well everyone was playing their roles and not trying to do too much. Two keys imo who tippified this were Dmac and Wood. Now with guys like Higgins Butler Howard Jones trying to always do more then they should regardless of whether their intention is to be ‘selfish’ or do what they feel they need to do the attitude is all wrong.

I've watched at least half of every game this round and we are in North and Crows territory at the moment based on form. So many great games this round and teams looking good even in defeat, we look lost.

Someone suggested last week that we upped the workload on the players post Brisbane and that's why we came out flat against the Bombers. Perhaps the players are still feeling the effects of that but I doubt it. It seems like such a sudden change in form but I said it last week that I reckon we've been pretty average since the win in Adelaide. Our effort was the only thing getting us over the line in that game and the games that have followed (win or loss effort has been there bar Essendon) but perhaps the cracks are starting to appear.

It's a bizarre situation we've found ourselves in now that the competition is so even which means we probably need to win 5 of the last 8 to make it. I can't see it but I know the side is good enough if they get themselves out of this rut.

He made a pretty interesting comment about David Rath doing too much in the box and being too influential to the decision making of the coaching group. I heard that same stuff back in March so either GT has a good sense of what's going on or someone is feeding him that info. Either way some of the stuff is along the same lines as what most of us have been saying the last few weeks.

The umpires were only just slightly worse than the Saints. One of their better officiated matches.

Every member of the senior team warrants both criticism and is open to questioning, even those that played well in comparison to those whom did sweet FA.
This team deserves scrutiny. I don't care if they've had past issues. The collective group making the team hasn't been able to produce since the bye, so the collective must be brought to task and made to atone.

Grant Thomas is right.

If you need to do such things to get position or create movement, you're not doing the fundamentals.

Slightly off topic but after watching Saturday’s game surely the end is near for the swans getting draft concessions for their academy literally every year.
Either that or the rest of the comp gets their academies back.

If the competition was actually fair they wouldn’t even have Heeney, Mills or Blakey.

Not only that, but because of the points system, they literally have draft collateral every year. They can trade out a 1st round pick for a bunch of picks back to ensure they can get their academy player and move up the draft.

How do you think their team goes the last 2 years without Heeney, Mills, Blakey, Gulden, Campbell etc?

Certainly wouldn’t be in the finals race I can give you the tip.

How good was Doug’s replicating what he did against Port that cost us the game by trying to get around the man on the mark and failing, only to then hack kick it straight up in the air?
